He ignored her question, blanking out her voice because he was concentrating, focus being the most important part of gramarye, as had been drummed into him by Brom. As he focused he brought his right hand closer, until it was only a few inches from where the glass lay embedded. Instead of curling his fingers to pull the glass out he held the palm of it toward the heel. Slowly there appeared a swirl of blue half the size of his palm, focused on her heel, coming from the white mark on his hand. A few seconds later the sliver of glass slid out and fell onto the seat, the wound slowly closing over under the small shower of bright blue sparks.
He let out the lungful of air he hadn't even realised he'd been holding and sat back on his haunches, blinking for a moment as the deep frown that had furrowed his brow slowly eased.
