[Bad username: drachenmina Word Count:  5 x 100 Rating: PG Snarry100 Challenge:#76 Home Characters: Severus Snape/Harry Potter   Absurd   It was all rather…unexpected.  Granted, the boy had always shown himself to be concerned for his fellow man.  Unwilling to stand by when he could rush in headlong and attempt to solve everyone’s problems for them.   But this…Severus was at a loss to understand the boy’s motivations.  Opening his home, sacrificing his free time…and all for a hated ex-teacher who had once had a humiliatingly unrequited passion for his mother, for fuck’s sake. Had it not been so patently absurd, Severus might have suspected the boy of …   He caught sight of himself in the bathroom mirror, and laughed bitterly.   Absurd.     Better   Harry sang tunelessly whilst he washed up.  Yeah, he knew his voice was rubbish, but he didn’t care.  And it was fun hearing Severus come up with ever better insults for his singing.   That and his looks, intelligence and well, pretty much anything he could think of to do with Harry.   Harry smiled.  Yeah, Severus was definitely getting better.  Right at the start, now, when he couldn’t even be bothered to be sarcastic, that had been scary.   He was looking better, too.  Getting a bit of colour in his cheeks.   Harry blushed as Severus looked up and caught him staring. Blush   Severus cursed himself for a fool, for even contemplating…   One blush.  That was all.  It hardly amounted to a declaration of undying love.   Severus looked down at his paper again, unseeing but intensely aware of the boy hovering around the kitchen, making even more racket than usual.  He swore and threw the paper down on the table.  Harry flinched.  Severus was reminded, bitterly, of his parents.   The atmosphere in the room was excruciating.  Feeling a desperate need to apologise, Severus forced himself to look Harry in the eye again, seeing discomfort and…recklessness?   “Oh, sod it” said Harry, and kissed him.       Kiss   Harry would be the first to admit he knew bugger all about kissing – face it, he hadn’t had a lot of experience – but he was pretty sure this one wasn’t going well.   He stopped, appalled.  Oh God, he’d fucked up, Snape was going to kill him, he could just imagine what he was going to say, Potter, you IMBECILE!  I am STRAIGHT, as evidenced by the fact that I was in love with YOUR MOTHER-   Harry cringed internally, and waited for the axe of his humiliation to fall.   He was utterly unprepared when Snape grabbed him, and kissed him back.     Ron   “So it’s true then?  Snape really tried to top himself?”  Ron sounded at once eager, and wistful.  “Shame you weren’t a few minutes later then, eh?”   Harry took a large gulp of his pint and wondered briefly why he’d ever been happy the git was finally talking to him again.   He tried not to let his annoyance show.  After all, Ron didn’t know that he and Sev were…whatever they were.  Lovers, he supposed, though they hadn’t actually done that much – yet.   He shifted awkwardly, his trousers suddenly a little too tight.   Sev had promised he'd be waiting up, at home...   ]
