Diamond Select Toys to release classic Knight Rider KITT toy.

Other things worth mentioning is that DST will be releasing a Classic Knight Rider KITT toy similar to the Back To The Future DeLorean vehicle last year. Kitt will talk and have light and sounds from the television show. We could also see versions of Karr and Kitt in super pursuit mode.

There will also be a Minimate version of Kitt with a Michael Knight Minimate.

Also, more people are saying that the sound issues have in fact been fixed.

Contrary to what was first reported on tvshowsondvd.com, it sounds like all of the bonus features from the previous releases will be included in the upcoming set.

According to Digital Bits:

"Also, the original Knight Rider: The Complete Series has been set for DVD release on 10/21 (SRP $139.98). The 24-disc set will feature collectible packaging in the form of a K.I.T.T. gift box, complete with flashing lights and sound."

"Extras will include a Knight of the Phoenix's audio commentary with David Hasselhoff and writer/creator Glen Larson, a photo gallery, a "blueprints" gallery, a K.I.T.T. Owners Manual, original blueprints for K.I.T.T., a bonus episode (Knight of the Rising Sun), 5 featurettes (Knight Moves, Knight Sounds, Knight Rider 2000, Knight Rider: Under the Hood and The Great 80's TV Flashback)."

My only reservations about buying this are: 1) The price. And 2), It sounds like they're just slapping the seasons together. So I'm not all that confident that the sound issues with Season 3 are going to be addressed.

I do like the idea of having single-sided disks, however.

Finally, all four seasons of the original Knight Rider series will be made available on a complete box set!

There will not be any bonus material on this 24-disk set. However, each disk will be single-sided, instead of double-sided. Universal lists the package as "K.I.T.T. Gift Box With Flashing Lights & Sound Chip".

The price of this set will be about $139-$140, and the tentative release date is October 21st. (No word yet on when or if this will be released in other regions outside of the U.S.)

And guess what? William Daniels was nice enough to actually record some new dialogue for it! :D This is the first time since KR2000, that he has been involved with a Knight Rider related project.
