Mephisto: Mwahahaha! Spider-Man, I've turned you from a hunted fugitive into a man who once more has a secret identity and I've saved your aunt and I've brought your best friend back to life! FEAR MY EVIL!!!

So, I guess the moral here is that deals with the Devil actually work out pretty well. That's a much better lesson to teach kids than "sometimes people get divorced."

Not to mention how Spidey doesn't even remember making the deal, so it's guilt-free!

... and looking at MJ's lines there, making a deal with the devil isn't just a sometimes necessary evil, it's heroic.

Wow that's just a pretty cold and evil way to taunt someone. But when you're the devil of that universe, guess it's pretty expected.

If anything put Mephisto in the top three for Marvel's most evil villains, it was this.

He literally says it right to their faces that he's doing this to prevent thier daughter from existing. This moment is why I believe that only Spider-Girl can undo this.

While I doubt the Spidey books will ever go there, like the idea that Mephisto did this to get rid of Baby May because she would someday pose a big threat to him. Or something.

I'm surprised someone hasn't written a fic along those lines by now, actually.

I mean, "I like that idea". I can make coherent comments. Really I can.

The oddity of OMD is Marvel has spent years keeping Spidey out of some larger, grander stories because they say - rightly, in many cases - that some villains or powers are "too big" for him to deal with. And that's true, to a point. But his fight with Firelord is a classic, and then of course they used Mephisto here as a deus ex machina. Given how popular stories like the Firelord issue are with Spidey up against something far greater than himself, "impossible odds," I think fans would eat up a big arc where lowly little Spider-Man must traverse Mephisto's realm and learn the secret of OMD or die trying.

Only if Dr. Doom was his guide. He's an old hat at outwitting Mephisto. And maybe we can finally get some follow-up to WTF happened to Valeria... -_-;;

Well, Spider-Man used smarts in his battle with the Juggernaut. He tricked Juggy into deep cement. And he did eventually get out of it since nothing stops the Juggernaut.

The Firelord fight was just Spider-Man hitting him repeatedly. Of course, Spidey had thrown a lot at Firelord beforehand.
