Chronic Resurrection

Just to make sure things are clear, this is what happened at ickle Ben's birthday party on Saturday:

When Andromeda arrives with Dora and Ax, Narcissa sees her, gets upset, and leaves with Draco.
When Narcissa leaves, Walden notices Andromeda is there, takes Katharina to one side, and they have a spat.
Andromeda notices Narcissa has left and Walden is mad at Katharina, and offers to leave. Katharina refuses the offer and spends the rest of the party cooing over Ax and Ben.
Ax and Ben get on really well, and it's adorable.
Lucius arrives at the party with Draco to vibe Andromeda out as they don't want him to miss out on the party.
Lucius questions Walden about how Andromeda ended up there and why nobody thought to inform Narcissa. Walden spends the rest of the party glowering at Katharina.
After the party, Walden and Katharina have a big fight (thread to follow), during which Walden strikes Katharina for the first time.

Having just looked through the thread communities, I haven't ever done threads with 80s Sue, or with 00s James or Anteros, or with Aurora or Pasha. Anybody want to help me christen them?

So, I realise it should probably be DCJ doing this and not me, but as I posted comments to Draco I was aware not all of them made sense out of context, so... here is a post where I am going to put my characters' previous relationships with Draco and DCJ can decide what she wants to keep, so we can move on from there.

Yo. Just a quick modly-ish note - in the course of the replies to Bahira's intro post, we established:

(a) Bahira is not in hiding. She lives out in the open and will be working as a consultant on ancient artefacts (freelance?). And
(b) Bahira is not going to join the Order, or even really be very political. She came here with Krum and obviously they're still besties, but whilst Viktor is joining the Order and fighting the good fight, Bahira is just hanging out in Britain, and maybe seeing Order people sometimes via Viktor.

Sooo bear this in mind when you are replying to her. Order members should say stuff under a ward if it would imply familiarity with her, DE can happily chat away with her etc.

Yes, I know, I have a problem. Alison here, with Viktor Krum. I've had a Viktor muse for a while, for a different game, but the mod and I had a difference of opinion about PBs so I never ended up playing him. She thought that my boy is too pretty :-) My feeling is that we only know that Harry thought he was unattractive, whereas girls all over are throwing themselves at him. However famous you are, you have to be at least passable-looking for that to happen. So I was focused more on finding someone with big bushy eyebrows and something approaching a hooked nose.

Anyway, so basically, y'all just have to put up with him being pretty :-P

Viktor is a quiet guy, and comes across as pretty moody and surly because he hates being around a lot of people, and he hates being famous, with all the attention being on him (except on the Quidditch field. That's okay. Then you're supposed to be looking at him). Get him alone and he's actually a pretty friendly person. He's still pretty serious and intense though. He has a strong sense of duty, plenty of courage and a firm conviction on right and wrong. If he had attended Hogwarts he would have been a toss up between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. He's not very academic, it's true, but he isn't stupid either. He is a good problem-solver, and he can think quickly when it comes to Quidditch or defending himself against the Dark Arts. His English still isn't great, even after a year in Britain during GoF and still more years of being Hermione's penpal. Speaking of Hermione, he does still like her, but he's not madly in love with her anymore. He'll be friendly to Order people, but preferably one at a time... that party at the weekend was a bit of a nightmare for him and he would have spent as much of the time as possible talking to people he knows - Bahira, Hermione and Harry.

I've made up Aurora's timetable, because I'm a dork. Subjects which are not taught at Hogwarts until you choose options get one slot rather than two.

Okay! So here is my new old person. Yep, this is Alison and I'm still going with new characters. You don't need to run the button as these usernames were already put on it last time.

This is Anteros Carrow, father to Amycus and Alecto and a cold, cold man. As I said in the old person post, Amycus and Alecto's mother died in childbirth, and Anteros blamed them for her death and basically neglected them a lot. He never really got over her death, in fact he's gotten more cold and stern as time has gone on as he retreats away from the world. In the 80s he probably comes across more as sad whereas in the 00s he probably comes across more as annoyed with everyone. He was a Ravenclaw back in school, and it shows. He's more happy with scrolls and ledgers than he is with people. His wife was basically the only person who could really draw him out of himself and make him engage, but she's long gone. He's a pretty tragic figure. He's not an evil man, however, and he becomes kind of appalled by what his children become when they reach adulthood*. He's not a Death Eater and he's not bloodist (he hates people whatever their blood lineage) but he's no hero either, so don't expect him to speak out against the regime or join the Order or anything.

Other than his children, your characters are most likely to know him as an Insurance Underwriter for the large firm Prune and Bingley. He'll insure your houses, your brooms, your businesses, your pets... whatever's valuable to you. In the 00s there'll be a few more who'll know him because I'm sure he'll be using the brothel. He's never loved again, but that doesn't mean he doesn't need to get his penis out. He'll probably do it in the dark and call out his dead wife's name, though.

Say hi! Be welcoming! He won't thank you for it.

[*I chose the usernames notnowbernard and notnowmonster based on the children's book, 'Not now, Bernard!" and the idea that a child ignored by his parents is 'consumed' by a monster. Anteros is that parent.]

Hey! This is Ted's mommy, Sue Tonks. She's the quintessential cute mom who doesn't understand modern things, except replace modern with magical. In the 80s she has this journal, and in the 00s she's grannysue. Most of your characters won't know her very well, with the obvious exception of Ted, Andromeda and Remus. In the 80s she's just your average muggle. She works part-time at Sainsbury's (the supermarket) and spends the rest of her time doting on her grandchildren, sewing and fixing everything in sight (a useful hobby when your son is as clumsy as Ted), and going for long rambles. In the 00s she's kind of in hiding, as a close relative of an Order member, but she doesn't have to hide very hard because, well, she's a muggle. Try finding her amongst all those other muggles in the country (no, that's not an invitation, DEs). She's much the same as before, but now she works in Boots (the pharmacist). She can't ward her journal so everything she says will be public unless someone comes and wards it for her.

I want some old people. We're a pretty good game for people in their 40s, but you basically never see characters over 50 anywhere, and I want some. I think this would be a good game for it because we often already have two generations in play, and adding a third would give an extra dimension that could be really interesting. We already know how one generation fucks up their children, now let's see how they got fucked first :-) This Be The Verse indeed. I've compiled a list of parents for our older characters. Please come bring a new (old) generation with me!

So, Laurence Rosier, the dude arrested for House Elf cruelty? We've decided to make him related to basically every pureblood in game, because it amuses us. He's the brother of Druella Rosier, (mother of Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa) so he's uncle to the Black sisters. Comment below if you want to play the pureblood incest game! (It's harder than it looks!)

Hey y'all. Alison here. I think everyone knows that Rabastan's big secret endeavour is actually a brothel. Well, every brothel needs whores, and so here's Millicent, ready to fulfil your kinkiest needs. She has icons for bondage, medical fetishes, brusied, bleeding, dominatrix-style outfits... as long as you're not trying to pretend she's a sweet virginal type, you're good.

Millicent was Slytherin, same year as Harry. She is scared of hard work and prefers to try and punch her way out of problems. With this in mind, she's been a bit of an aimless drifter since Hogwarts, with several jobs she didn't stick at very long. She wants to be a Death Eater but she's not really disciplined enough to have been picked out yet so she's just hanging around being annoying. Millicent loves senseless violence and is actually quite fond of pain. She's kind of like your angsty teenage goth who never grew out of it. She also has terrible self esteem, partly related to her weight, partly because she was never very academic so she thinks she's stupid, and partly because people very rarely have anything complimentary to say to her because she's aggressive and can be kind of whiny. I bet you're all so pleased to see her!

Friends? Enemies? People she's already slept with? (It's not hard, just pay her a bit of attention, whether that be saying something nice or giving her a slap.)

p.s. She loves CATS. They make her go gushy and gooey.

Okay, this is a weird intro post because I still haven't quite got a handle on my mini-Dolohov yet. I'm basically exploring! As a brief background, because I don't know if Soledad and Danielle are doing intros or not, Antonin got married, had three children, and then got divorced. The three children are 17 year old Rava, 16 year old Pavel (nicknamed Pasha), and 11 year old Nikolai (nicknamed Kolya).

Today was supposed to be our day for catching up with RP, but then we had to go and accompany our kid because apparently 17 is too young to visit people in hospital on your own. We took laptops even though there's no internet there, but we were asked to turn them off because they hadn't been checked by an electrical guy. Stupid hospital. Before that, though, I did manage to write this:

Today - late today - there'll be a bunch of new people in 2002, but all your characters, except Harry, will think they've been there all along. James, Lily and Sirius you at least know as younger, but there are also two new people - Aurora and Lyra Black.
