On 21st March 2018, at 12:00 NST (Nexus Standard Time) multiple rifts opened up around the island. These rifts dragged (almost) all characters through into a realm known as the Nevernever.

Then the rifts closed. And Nexus Island became almost dormant. Rift activity, except for the odd tiny one - that wasn’t big enough to admit new arrivals - ceased.

Over two years has passed, and now on 10th October 2020, at 20:00 NST, the Nevernever rifts reopened and deposited some of the characters back onto the Island.

To the “Returned”, they have been gone for an hour. Of course, an hour in the Nevernever is definitely not an uneventful experience. What happened to them during that time? How will they react once they find out how long it has been on Nexus?

To those “Left Behind”, it has been over two years and they have been living and coping by themselves. How have they changed? What happened to them during that time? How will they react to the sudden rift activity?

With the return, Nexus Island begins to function again with its sporadic rift activity. Soon there will be “Newcomers” once more.

NB: Any characters that haven’t returned (i.e. have been dropped) can still return in the future. Players choice, they can have been deposited back into their own world for a while, or an AU!Nexus or time period etc.

With Jay's escape the previous day, the location of the spider's lair was now known.

It was situated deep in the jungle. Deeper than the waterfall and lake they had found on the 27th - along with a patch of the Doctor's blood. It was well hidden and underground. Instead of a burrow or cave, a crumbling archway marked the entrance. Evidence of an underground building and tunnels perhaps.

The fact that everyone who had gone missing were still alive - albeit injured - was good news. All they had to do now was rescue them and avoid anyone else being killed by the spider.

Notes: Remember that it is winter (think February weather for Northern Hemisphere).
Certain characters (Jyn, Crichton and Rose) have been given clues from some of the captives during their attacks.
There will be visible tracks and blood at each attack site (that may or may not have been found yet, the Doctor's might not have been yet?) which then suddenly end.

With the number of missing approaching double figures and with little signs, apart from tracks and blood at each attack site (that had been located so far), search and rescue teams are going out frequently (some non-stop) to try and find their missing friends and family.

The creature must have a lair, but where could it be? Deep in the jungle for sure, deeper than anyone had explored thus far but it was a vast place and who knew what else lurked amongst the foliage.

(OOC: the climax of the plot will take place on the 29th, but they can find the lair nearer the end of this of course)

Notes: Remember that it is winter (think February weather for Northern Hemisphere). Characters are listed in order of capture. The Doctor was the last brought in and is probably still unconscious (and bleeding).

The lair was dank, dim and stank of rotting bodies. Bones and shrivelled husks of animals and abbies littered the floor. Some still hung, swinging in the ocassional cold breeze, in the strong silk. This was an off-white colour on the dead but wrapped around the living, it pulsed intermittanty with blue light. This pulsating light flowed down the long thick tubular strands running from the living bundles towards the hulking mustard-coloured egg sac suspended in the centre.

Those that had been taken first, although unsure of exactly what was going on, have already witnessed several abbies dying or being killed before them. Some had been sucked dry by the spider-like creature but others had just been left to die slow and rot or be eaten by smaller scavenging creatures.

With each new arrival, the first worried that the same fate as the abbies would befall them. Whispers rattle through their minds, feelings and thoughts that aren't their own fluttering through them once they awake to find themselves high up, cocooned against the wall and unable to move. Growing weaker as their energy is drained from them to feed the eggs. Always fearful that the spider would decide to 'feed' directly from them or eventually devour them to leave but a husk behind.
