Peggy is in the press box and she has a bag with her with Georgi's birthday gift, which she means to give him after the match. The ejection and the injuries are ... not good. She's going to spend most of the match after Lennox's ejection talking to the Prophet's quidditch reporter and helping keep an eye on what's going on so they can report it more accurately.

Maddie had decided it was high time for her to see her brother play when she wasn't on the other side of the Snitch. Whatever she expected, this match was not it.

Kal likes playing, but it's also sort of nice to be able to watch from the stands for a change, especially since Augustus is free to attend with her. She's enthusiastic and cheers with the crowd, but otherwise isn't all that demonstrative—until Roger gets ejected, and then she's on her feet.

Again Quidditch is not really his thing but... he likes Kal. And they were spending time together. He's even wearing the Magpie scarf she bought him for Valentine's day. With a pink shirt underneath that and his cloak. And holding hands with Kal when she's not cheering as enthusiastically... or when she's on her feet about her teammate being ejected.

Shona's mouth is WIDE OPEN at half of these calls, and when she's not in a stupor at how ridiculous this match is, she's yelling obscenities at the ref. Good thing she didn't bring the kids today.

At some point, probably after Roger's unjust ejection and Maddock's injury, Alex approaches Shona (after assessing a decent opening) and introduces himself.

Mel is on his feet for large parts of this match. I hope no infants or small impressionable children are in the box because Uncle Mel may have to be reminded to bite his tongue after some of these calls, and especially after the bludger smacks Maddock in the back. That's the kind of thing that could be a career-ender so he's pretty worried.

And then they eject LENNOX wtf????

At least Micah is a beast and holding his own (more than) with the Puddlemere chasers.

Fraser is right beside his cousin, and likewise doesn't sit down for most of the match.

Five on Seven is bad enough, but four on seven should be impossible, and no seeker.

Well, it would be hard to blame Merc for the loss with that happening to your team. Fraser waited to see what MG would try...

Silviya and Nadezhda come over to socialize with the owners, and Nadezhda is very happy to introduce Georgi's sister to Mel and to the other Macmillans she met the last time.

At Lennox's ejection from the match, Silviya gasps and covers her eyes like she just can't look, certain that this is it for Georgi's team. "Is that the Seeker? No, they can't take him out!"

Now THIS is a match.

Meaghan is here, with someone or other, ostensibly to cheer for Puddlemere (look, everything else aside Wood's a Gryff keeper and you gotta support your own, specially on their first) but finds that she keeps switching sides as she watches. She's friends with Wilda and she's been blocked a TON this season, she's not with Katy Duke so she's free to cackle. (She cackles at Wilda too, just... sympathetic cackling. Ish.) She cheers at the Pantsing, as always. Wood's doing well.

Roger's ejection gets a WHOOOOA of interest. At Lennox's fouls she is delighted and she's absolutely beside herself with glee when he's ejected because how often does that one get that mad????

Maddock's injury... is different. Obviously serious and kind of terrifying, her eyes are stuck to him.

Ellie is grateful for the match today. It gives her something else to focus on than getting another new player up to speed and integrated with Pride. But at least there is a solution coming. Gratefully the match does not disappoint.

She does get handed Champ not long before the starting whistle. She still doesn't really get dogs, but there is probably a learning curve there and Champ does seem to settle so that's something.

More importantly, she gets to spend some time with Meaghan and pretend they are not player and coach, but rather just two people. She is also all about the trash talking with some colorful words. When Roger get's ejected she is definitely paying attention. What the fuck are the refs thinking? Then later...what the fuck is her husband thinking with that trick shot? There are going to be words for that later.

Except then Maddock takes the bludger to the back and Ellie is on her feet. Frozen for a moment in seeing what comes next. Champ seems to pick up on something gone wrong and is also at alert and barking.

Ever since getting the warded journal entry from Aureliana a couple of days ago, Alex had been doing some serious homework on the Magpies. It was always better to go into a situation with as many facts and figures as he could possibly get his hands on. Seeing the game live, however, was a different experience entirely. Although he wasn't quite as invested, it didn't take much for him to get caught up in the crowd's enthusiasm, so he was on his feet more often than not, and even felt his hackles rise when they got what would turn out to be their first ejection.

Georgi's visitors, his sister Silviya and his cousin Nadezhda (whom a lot of the team met last month at his dinner party) are here and spending time with the team children and dogs! Silviya shares Georgi's dislike of dogs, though, so she stays politely away from them and would prefer not to be licked or sniffed THANKS.

Nadezhda speaks excellent English and Silviya's is good enough for conversation, and they're both excited for the match and eager to talk to Georgi's friends. <3

Desmond never really stopped coming to matches, but he's made more of an effort to be seen at them this last month. He arrives with his wife, and spends time in both the Montrose and Puddlemere boxes. If any of the other Scottish Office candidates are present, he gives them a calmly confident smile.

(Morven Oglethorpe is also at the match, partly to collect information, but isn't with him.)

Des divides his time pretty evenly between watching the match and talking to the people around him (those who are inclined to talk, in any case). He's very interested in the referees' calls today. Madame Najafi is not going to be pleased with them, but you can't deny the ejections catch your attention.

He's impressed by Oliver's tenacity. Focused, but not openly dismayed, by Maddock's injury. And clearly riveted by the Seeker Problem, which, knowing McGonagall, is giving the coach kittens.

When he sees Georgi give up his bat and take to his broom, he smiles. "Ahh. So that how it's going to be."

William is sitting in the regular stands, among the regular fans. He's here for his son, and nothing more. However, that doesn't keep him from having several rousing conversations about the state of Scotland and the direction William feels it needs to go. Plenty of people have read the goings on in The Prophet, and they have more questions on top of that, and he's happy to answer all of them.

Though when the game gets exciting, he's quick to shift from politician back into fan and proud father. He frowns slightly as things progress, because he can tell something is going on with Oliver. The others might not see it, but this is his son, and he can read Oliver better than just about anyone. Oliver holds his own, though, despite what is ailing him, and William's expression is infused with pride.

He'll continue to chat about the Scottish office with anyone who wants, but mostly he's striking up conversations about Quidditch, about Oliver, about their families, about their desires for Scotland—or wherever they're from, for that matter—and is clearly a down-to-earth sort of wizard, no matter his aspirations.

Aureliana is quite confident about the game. Montrose has been doing very well and she has a potential replacement to boot. After watching the team fly out and seeing the Quaffle released, she left in search of Alex to bring him back to the box to get the temperature of the team and unofficially meet people.

Of course, she has no idea it's all going to go to hell in a handbasket soon enough.
