Hurricane Party!
Who: Ginny and the other residents of the resort
What: Hurricane Party!
When: Day 10, around 7 PM.
Where: The White Sands Resort Bar and Club
Rating: PG? I don't know what crazy shenanigans are going to occur.
Status: In progress.

Ginny hated being stuck indoors.

She almost literally been trying to climb the walls in her frustration when she'd decided to throw a hurricane party. She hadn't met many of the residents, and figured if there was anyone else as irritated at being stuck inside then they'd appreciate the change of scenery. It'd also give people a chance to mingle and meet. She wondered if there were others from her world here besides Tonks.

The planet had been most accomodating to her ideas. The club was currently themed for a luau, and small lanterns shed a soft glow over numerous smaller groupings of tables as well as over the dance floor and bar. She hadn't been sure what the other residents might eat, so she'd asked for a large selection of snacks. The bar was well-stocked as well. She didn't recognize all of the things stocked, but she did notice a bottle of Firewhiskey and what appeared to be butterbeer.

Now all this party needed was people. Maybe she'd get to see Max again.

Gabrielle shrugged, following her up to the bar, looking around at all the people that were now gathering for the party. She was in slight amazement at this moment, having been to a party but someone always managed to crash it. “Ale for me.” She told her, taking her drink when it was offered to her. She took a sip, hearing her question.

”I see Faith. We were working out in the gym earlier today. She’s quit a fighter.” She told her, looking at Xena. “Got some good practice in.” She added, smirking. “But other than her, don’t know anyone else.” She said, sipping her drink, letting her gaze drift back to around the room. "Do you?" She qeustioned, curiously, wondering if her warrior had been social.

"I know Ayla and Giselle. Well, know them is relative. I've seen them in passing. Never really spoken to them. Oh, and there's Katara. I have been training her on the staff. You should come to our training sessions. I am sure you could do a better job than I can." She took a sip of her ale and glanced around again.

"This place seems to become more and more populated every day. I've never even seen half of these people. Some of them in the halls, but ..." She shook her head, mystified. "So, working out with Faith. Sounds like a girl right up your alley." Xena grinned and nudged Gabrielle in the side. The association between Faith's name and the name of Gabrielle's daughter didn't elude her. Speaking of Hope.

"You know, I've got this weird feeling. Like something bad is going to happen. Do you feel it?" She wasn't talking about the hurricane, either. That wasn't so bad.

Gabrielle looked to the people that Xena had pointed out, slowly nodded as she took in their appearance and whom they were surrounded with. She looked at Katara and sized her up upon hearing that was the girl Xena was training with the staff. “I’m sure you’re doing a good job.” She said, smirking, having mastered the staff fairly well as it was the first weapon she trained to use with help from her fellow Amazon’s.

The bard nodded. “Yep. It was a good workout, knows how to work a sword.” She told her, looking over at the warrior, seeing her smile. “You should meet her. I’m sure you could show her a thing or two.” She added, sipping her ale, hearing Xena say she had a bad feeling.

“Bad feeling? Like what sort of feeling?” She asked, curiously, thinking back to the day and could only really remember her stomach twisting in knots with nervousness. “My stomach keeps twisting in knots for some reason but other than that, haven’t felt that much.” She replied.

"But I'm sure you could do better." She smirked, feeling a little like the bard was fishing for a compliment. Not that Xena was hesitant to give them out to her, especially when she deserved them. She was more than competent with a staff.

Xena did her own sizing up of the woman that was pointed out to her. The dark haired girl didn't look like much, but appearances could be deceiving. She raised a brow, and smirked. "I'll have to see what she's made of one of these days." She leaned her side against the bar, resting her elbow on it as she held her ale up.

"I just don't feel right. Sort of off." She frowned when Gabrielle mentioned feeling knots in her stomach. "Are you ill?" She couldn't think of why Gabrielle would have knots in her stomach for no reason. Perhaps it was the same bad feeling she had, just manifested a different way. "Whatever it is, I don't like it."

Gabrielle shrugged. “Maybe I could. I don’t know. It was the first weapon I learned to use and I did master it pretty well.” She said, looking up at the warrior, nodding in response to her words about Faith. “I think you should.” She added, her gaze remaining on the warrior, finding her to be the most interesting person in the room at this moment then again, she had missed her. She was used to being in Xena’s company all the time that she didn’t know what to do with herself when they were apart.

Hearing the question if she was ill, she shook her head. “No, I don’t feel ill. Just nervous, almost uneasy. Xena, you don’t think something bad is going to happen, do you?” She asked, curiously, setting her ale down as she leaned against the bar as well, keeping their conversation quiet, not wanting anyone else alarmed.

Taking a sip of her ale, she listened to Gabrielle talk about the staff and then encourage her going up against Faith. She smirked as she swallowed and wondered when Gabrielle had become such an advocate of fighting. She knew she was only encouraging friendly combat, but the little girl from Potadeia would not have encouraged it at all. Gabrielle really was a warrior now, even if she hadn't set out to be.

She nodded. "Yeah, I do." Xena rarely had what could be called visions or prophecies. But, she seemed to have super-human senses. She could tell when Ares was in the area, even when he hadn't shown himself yet. She could sense when intruders were approaching. She had a sense of space around her and when it was invaded, she knew. And while the space hadn't quite been invaded yet, there was a sort of tingling on the edges of it, as if it would be trespassed against soon.

She kept her voice down, Gabrielle had the right idea about not wanting to alarm anyone around them. But, Xena didn't know what the threat was, or where it was going to come from. She couldn't do anything but feel uneasy. Sighing in momentary defeat, she took another sip of ale. She wanted to find out if anyone else was feeling uneasy. But, for fear of looking like a lunatic, she refrained and just stewed.

Gabrielle looked around the party, feeling the need to just be alone with Xena. She had no idea why but she did. She sipped her ale, looking over at the warrior, wondering what she was thinking about at this very moment. Sometimes she could read the woman that stood beside her but others, she couldn’t. She sensed her unease though. Asking for some more ale, she drank it down.

“Should we go around and say hello to people?” She asked, curiously, looking at Xena once more though for the first time since arriving she felt nervous to meet anyone due to the uneasy feeling she had. No one in the room looked dangers, like they were going to harm anyone but one could never be too sure.

The uneasy feeling wasn't going away, and Gabrielle was clingy. Something was definitely wrong. The foreboding feeling wasn't something she got often, at least not without some threat of immediate danger. She was no prophet. The visions she'd had in the past had been from Alti or the Gods. Something meant to torture her. She was feeling a little tortured now.

She gave Gabrielle a look at the question. "Hey, you dragged me here, remember?" She finished her ale and it was instantly refilled through the magic that was the golems. Xena was spoiled here. Maybe that's why she was feeling so uneasy. Maybe it was all a little too perfect. Something was bound to go wrong, wasn't it?

"Look, maybe we should go." She put a hand to Gabrielle's shoulder. "I'm not up to feeling social." In fact, she was feeling a little volatile. Her training session with Katara that morning apparently hadn't done anything to aleviate her stress. She wanted to hit someone or something. A barfight was starting to sound pretty good right about now.

Gabrielle let her green eyes wonder around the room, Hope coming into her mind, thinking about the daughter she had had on earth. She looked up at Xena and nodded. “I know I dragged you here, Xena. I though it would be fun but not used to being able to just relax at a party.” She stated, looking back out at the party, though she wasn’t used to being able to relax at a party. She kept expecting something to go wrong but nothing did. It surprised her just a tad bit.

Hearing that they should go, she slowly nodded, figuring that was maybe the best because she no longer felt up to being social either and she was the more social one of them both. “Yeah, maybe we should.” She said, finishing off her ale before setting the glass down which quickly disappeared. Truth was, her nerves had made her want to just be alone, not to mention the thoughts of Hope.

When Gabrielle agreed to leave, Xena felt relieved to know she wouldn't have to argue with her. "Let's get out of here." She put her ale down, empty, and then put her hand on Gabrielle's shoulder, pushing her toward the exit. Bodies pressed against them, and she realized how crowded the bar had become.

She felt the twisting in her stomach as she exited the bar and walked with Gabrielle down the hall and back to their room. She wondered if they were both going to be ill, but it didn't feel like a sickness. It felt foreboding and evil. And it wasn't going away. She was glad when they were finally in their room and could lay down and go to sleep.
