Hurricane Party!
Who: Ginny and the other residents of the resort
What: Hurricane Party!
When: Day 10, around 7 PM.
Where: The White Sands Resort Bar and Club
Rating: PG? I don't know what crazy shenanigans are going to occur.
Status: In progress.


Ginny hated being stuck indoors.

She almost literally been trying to climb the walls in her frustration when she'd decided to throw a hurricane party. She hadn't met many of the residents, and figured if there was anyone else as irritated at being stuck inside then they'd appreciate the change of scenery. It'd also give people a chance to mingle and meet. She wondered if there were others from her world here besides Tonks.

The planet had been most accomodating to her ideas. The club was currently themed for a luau, and small lanterns shed a soft glow over numerous smaller groupings of tables as well as over the dance floor and bar. She hadn't been sure what the other residents might eat, so she'd asked for a large selection of snacks. The bar was well-stocked as well. She didn't recognize all of the things stocked, but she did notice a bottle of Firewhiskey and what appeared to be butterbeer.

Now all this party needed was people. Maybe she'd get to see Max again.

"I try," she replied, somehow managing to not giggle as he called her observant. She moved from side to side as his hands went to the sides of her stool, and she leaned forward to press a smacking kiss to each of his cheeks.

Their drinks arrived and she happily accepted hers, raising it up to clink her glass to his. "Cheers, love!" She took a sip- oh, that was delicious. "How is it that everything here just tastes so bloody good?"

He gave her an almost giddy smile as she kissed his cheeks, but he was quickly distracted by his delicious drink.

"I don't know, but it's so good. We need to steal a golem chef when we leave," he suggested, turning quickly to the bartender. "I'll pay you a reasonable wage. I'll beat this planet's offer!" he called to him, obviously receiving absolutely no response.

"Do you think the TARDIS might be offended?" she asked, eying the golem for a moment before taking another sip of her drink. "Can we have another?" she asked. Hey, it never hurt to be prepared!

"So I wonder what all is supposed to happen at this thing. Do you think they'll teach the hula? Or make us dance?" Anything but that crazy country line dancing. "How long do you think the hurricane will last?"

"Maybe a little bit, but I'll..." he trailed off, scrunching up his forehead. "I was going to say I'd give her treats, but she's not a pet dog," he shrugged, not actually deciding what he would do to make the TARDIS less jealous. He grinned as she asked for another. "I like the way you think!"

"I don't know! Maybe! It's all a wonderful adventure," he told her, looking about the room for some sign of what was going to happen. "Whatever it is, I bet it'll be fun!" he told her, although he was quite sure than absolutely anything would be fun while he was this drunk.

"I don't know. But when it stops, we need to go and find the dolphins!" he grinned. "Imagine giving us a beach resort, and then being mean enough to give us a hurricane. Why couldn't we have had a hurricane at the boring old ranch?" he whined.

Rose snorted with laughter as she took a sip of her drink. "No, I doubt she'd appreciate treats. But...well, you know her better than I do!"

"Yes, it is! But the second they start any country line dancing, I'm out. I'll learn the hula, though! That could be fun!" She might fall over with all of the hip waving and side stepping, but she'd certainly try! "We'll make it fun. We always do. Always! Always always always always." Hee. Words started to sound funny when you said them too many times in a row.

"Ooh! Can we swim with the dolphins? Will you actually wear swim trunks?"

"I wouldn't know where to put them. Maybe just leave them on the console and leave her to it!" he joked, as it became harder and harder to stifle his giggles.

"Haaa, you never did show me your line-dancing moves. But I suppose I'd settle for hula," he grinned, although he was a little anxious that he was just drunk enough to be convinced to hula dance with her, and that was definitely going to be a haunting memory in the morning. "Always," he repeated, after sh had finished saying it god knows how many times.

"I don't see why not. We can ask them if they were kidnapped, too. Not that they'd answer," he suggested. "Rose, you already got me naked, I think you'll somehow be able to talk me into trunks," he reminded her with a little snort of laughter.

"It's probably best that I didn't," she replied, a touch dryly. "I felt nothing. It was just..steps, you know?" She lifted her shoulder in a shrug and then took another long drink. That finished it off and she slid her now empty glass across the counter as a golem passed a new one back to her.

Rose burst into giggles. "Oh, good. Swimming with the dolphins would be fun. And I think I saw a swim-up bar out there before the rain started!"

"Well, they can't expect you to be thrilled with it when it's a forced activity," he shrugged, raising an eyebrow as she downed the rest of her drink and quickly following suit.

"A swim-up bar?" he asked, nearly spitting his drink out with enthusiasm. "A bar that you swim to? That's amazing. I want to swim to a bar!" he told her, although he was quite sure it was the alcohol talking. "Although, swimming away from the bar again could be more interesting and challenging," he pointed out.

"Thankfully the water's shallow enough that you could just sorta walk out. And I think there are enough people around to keep you from drowning if you fall over!" Rose grinned. "I'll help you. We'll figure it out! I've never been to one myself, but I've heard about them and they're supposed to be all sorts of fun!"

That was it. He couldn't contain it any longer; it must have been the suggestion of falling over at a swim-up bar that did it - he was having a laughing fit. "Oh, wow, I love it!" he managed to tell her through his laughter.

"You'll help me? Rose, do you really think you'll be in any state to help? We'll just end up... floating about.. laughing!" he insisted, still giggling now and then at the thought of it.

His laughter was absolutely contagious, and it was a wonder that Rose didn't fall off of her stool or spill her drink. She managed to set her drink on the counter with a dull thump as she grasped it with both hands to keep from falling off.

"I might! We'd have to wait and see, wouldn't we?" To be honest, she would probably need more help making sure her swimsuit stayed on and that she stayed somewhat upright. And didn't get too friendly with others at the bar.

It took quite a lot of deep, calming breathing before the Doctor could regain any air of normality; or at least as much normality as he could muster while wearing coconuts on his chest.

"It would definitely be a new experience for both of us," he pointed out before taking a drink. "Mmm, let's get nibbles!" he insisted, hopping rather inelegantly from his stool, his head spinning a little as he stood, offering a hand to help her from her seat.

"Nibbles!" Rose giggled as she spun on her stool once more before sliding off, swaying slightly before she wrapped an arm around the Doctor and she grinned. "Do you think they have chips? I hope they have chips. I love chips. And the chips here are fantastic!"

"Nibbley nibbles!" he said, narrowly avoiding saying 'nipples' instead. He attempted to lead her across to one of the tables.

"I don't know about chips, but they have a lot of mini-foods. Look, look... mini pizzas. And little sausage rolls!" he pointed out, picking up on of the mini sausage rolls and practically forcing it toward her mouth.

"Nibbley nibbley nibbley nibbley," she half sang as she stumbled across the room with him, nearly tripping over her grass skirt at least once. "Nibbley nibbley nibbley nibbley- oh!"

She opened her mouth in surprise just in time for him to pop one into her mouth and she chewed, swallowing before reaching for another. "Your turn! Open up!"

The Doctor opened his mouth, letting her shove the snack in. He somehow managed to smile at her as he chewed, until something caught his eye and he looked as if he'd just choked. "Oh my god, they do have chips!" he told her, spraying pastry with his exclamation and waving manically in the direction of the chips.

"The golems must have known you were coming!" he teased, digging his elbow into her side and reaching for the chips. He motioned as if he were going to pop the chip into her mouth as well, but at the last second he shoved it into his own mouth instead. He snorted with laughter, giving her a cheeky look as if waiting for her reaction. "Sorry, sorry, here..." he said between giggles, holding a new chip out to her.

"Chips!" Rose burst into giggles, turning as he did and moving to the chips, waiting as he waved the chip around and opening her mouth- oh, bugger. "Doctor!" she exclaimed, hands moving to her hips. And then he offered her a chip and she took a bite, fingers wrapping around his wrist to keep him from tugging it away.

"Thank you," she said, grinning. "Wanna dance?"

"Yes!" he exclaimed, instantly grabbing her hand and dragging her in the direction of the dancefloor. He grinned widely and wrapped his free arm round her waist, pulling her close and swaying slightly with the music.

He leaned close, and started to sing softly into her ear. "I could have daaanced all night," he started, trailing off into another fit of giggles.

Rose giggled as he pulled her closer, arms wrapping around him they began to sway. Oh, he smelled nice. Or maybe she was just imagining things-- but then again, she always had liked how he smelled. Maybe she was just strange.

She grinned as he began to sing and she leaned her head against his shoulder.

As he stopped singing he placed a rough kiss against her cheek, and for some reason decided to rest his head or her shoulder for a moment while they swayed.

"Mmm, I'm sorry my coconuts are getting in the way," he mumbled into her shoulder.

Rose laughed softly at that, shaking her head. "I don't mind," she whispered, hugging him closer for a moment. "I can't believe you're actually wearing them still..."

"I wouldn't know where else to put them..." he sighed, apparently too drunk to realise how illogical that sentence was. He breathed deeply, tilting his head slightly so he was practically nuzzling at her neck.

"You're so lovely," he slurred, holding her tight. God, he was drunk.

The Doctor tried to lift his head from her shoulder, but decided to leave it where it was as the room spun violently. He was sure he hadn't been quite so drunk in at least a few centuries, but supposed it was result of his surroundings. Really, he had very little purpose on the planet - there was only so much investigating and tinkering with the TARDIS he could do. he wasn't a defeatist, he wasn't giving up on the thought that they'd all get off the planet once and for all... but that didn't mean he couldn't actually participate in a party for once.

Not that there was any room in his head for such thoughts at that precise moment. Instead, he moved forward. His head was still too heavy to manage a kiss to her cheek, so instead he pressed a wet kiss against her neck.

Rose shivered slightly, smiling as she felt the kiss- it was rather wet. She hugged him closer and she couldn't help but giggle-- it tickled a little. And his coconuts were poking her in the chest. "This is fun," she said, her voice slurring more than she meant. "I'm glad we came."
