Yes, Metem, it's time for our annual tradition!

Maybe they make you melt with their sweetness. Maybe they always manage to get your blood boiling, their chemistry is so hot. But, we want to know... Who are your favorite Metempsychosis couples? All of you will get to nominate and vote on your favorite pairings, and the top three couples will then be featured in an ad that will run in anticipation of Valentine's Day. The contest will run until midnight CST on Wednesday, January 22nd, in order to allow enough time to compile and post the ad.

RULES:
1) The nominated couples should be in a current and ongoing relationship (though it does not have to be formally established, nor exclusive). So, in other words, pairings involving dropped characters aren't going to be allowed for this, and one-time flings will not count either. So, Seth and Astarte would count, but Seth and Bastet would not.

2) Each player may vote for up to five different couples. You do not have to use all your votes if, for example, you only really like one or two. You also do not have to limit your votes to pairings involving your own characters. Both homosexual and heterosexual pairings are valid for nomination.

3) Each individual couple should have its own comment thread for receiving votes to help keep things organized. So, say you wish to vote for both Sif & Tyr and Hades & Persephone. You would post one comment for Sif & Tyr, and then a new comment for Hades & Persephone. The next person wanting to submit a vote for either couple would then reply to the appropriate comment with something like "I also vote for [Name] and [Name]."

4) Yes, you may lobby for your favorites! However, to lobby for a couple, I ask that you do so by quoting their most lovable exchanges, preferably with links back to the pertinent post. Just saying "Because they're so CUTE!" isn't really lobbying. We want proof! Lobby comments should be contained to the voting thread for the respective couple. And, of course, be nice when you post.

Now, to the next order of business: The Plot Thickens! This time, it's not Gaia's doing, though, oh no. Corruption's behind this one. He thinks the godlings have had it way too soft, so he's sending a challenge their way starting on Thursday the 30th. Battle. With snakes. Not just any snakes--GIANT MONSTER SNAKES. As in, remember that mysterious snake scale, Seth? It'd come from one of these bad boys. There will be a total of three: a water snake released near the Judeo-Christian epicenter in Florida, a land snake released in Death Valley, California, and a flying feathered snake released near Redwood National Forest and the Mayan epicenter there. How the godlings team up to fight them (or not, if battle isn't your thing, I suppose) is up to you, and (in-between your voting!) you are welcome to use this post for plotting, or feel free to chat amongst yourselves. With Halloween just a couple weeks away (and, oh, yes, my sweets, an event is coming! Well, August might have been quiet, dear godlings, but that isn't going to last. Rumors are spreading. Disappearances, unexplained activities, all manner of creepy things--and all within close vicinity to the epicenters. Something is on the move, dears, and it's not good. Psychically-attuned characters may begin having disturbing dreams. These will only get worse over the upcoming weeks. For now, it's just shadows and rumors, but... don't get too complacent.

And welcome to the wonderful world of Faerie, everyone! I hope you're excited.

First of all, you'll be entering through the faerie gate. It kinda looks like a giant pizza oven wreathed in orangey-pink and purple faerie fire. Very pretty.

Inside, you'll be entering the Unseelie Court. Since the Unseelie are nocturnal by nature, at best the natural lighting is a perpetual twilight, but in some places, it is completely dark, lit only with faerie lights of various kinds.

You're welcome to explore the area, and you may proceed either individually, in pairs, or in small groups. It is possible that you may find yourselves separated even if you start off together. If you want an Event Buddy or two and don't already have one, you're welcome to use this post to divvy up into groups.

It's possible (even likely) that you may run into various members of the Unseelie while there. Some may be benign, others may become aggressive. However, since virtually everyone is going in as immortals, they shouldn't pose any truly serious dangers. After all, Faerie itself does not want any of you to die.

Please do keep in mind that Faerie wants you all to stay. Badly. It will try to confuse you, and make your paths seem labyrinthine. And it will try to make you WANT to be there. Remember your questionnaires? Shortly after your arrival, you will be immediately presented with the temptations of your favorite sweets, guilty pleasures and ultimate desires--and they'll be the best possible versions of them you've ever encountered. The food IS real, but it's enchanted to dull the senses and willpower and be very, very addictive. Consider that your warning.

Also, shortly after you begin exploring, Faerie will try to wrap you in illusion scenarios. (The Fade nightmares from Dragon Age are very similar to what Faerie will try to pull on you.) Some might be pleasant. Others, not so much. The exact contents of the illusions are up to you guys, but it should be something that will appeal to everyone in the group who is affected. (If you can't think of anything, Ash and I can create something for you.) Some of you may be able to see through it and escape being affected at all. In some cases, perhaps only certain members of a starting group will end up in the illusion. Yes, it will be possible to break free on your own after sensing that things are Not Quite Right. Some of you might need to be rescued by others--and anyone can rescue anyone, but do make sure all group members are OK with it before barging into their dreams. Keep in mind that EVERYTHING in these scenarios is an illusion or a glamour, and the only real stuff is the food.

Also keep in mind that, in Faerie, reality is often what you make it to be. Willing certain things tends to make them happen.

Please join us in congratulating her!

As for Mod Paul, he remains in charge of Admissions, and will be taking over all Activity duties from here on out. So, basically, if you have ANY questions about applications, current status, or anything related to activity, he's your go-to guy.
