[Day 329] In Bloom Event/Dance Mingle
[DAYTIME: Walking in a floral wonderland. Not to be confused with an actual wonderland. Completely different event. You could be anywhere and everywhere today and not escape the petals.

DANCE: The sector 2 garden is a little extra pleasant and inviting this evening. Gentle breeze, beautiful flowers, delicious hor d'oeuvres, sparkling punch, and music. And dry. Did we mention it's dry? Not a single flood as far as the eye can see. So, find someone and get out there and dance.]

(OOC: Event INFO. Feel free to have your mingle set up cover both aspects of the day.)

Hey.

[Kitty offered him her hand. She was dressed and looked ready for some fun.]

Wanna dance?

[Yuuri appreciates she didn't come to the dance naked. That would have caused quite a blush. As it is, there's just a small blush.]

Uh, sure. That would be fun. [He reaches out to take her hand.]

[She took the offered hand in return, giving it a soft little squeeze before heading out on to the dance floor. Small blush? That was so cute!]

Are you having fun?

Sure. I mean, I haven't done much yet, but it's a nice day. It's a lot nicer than the flood. What about you? [Trying to remember what to do with his hands and feet and not sure what his mouth is doing in the meantime.]

It's definitely a lot nicer than the flood. [She chuckled.] And the flowers were pretty, at least. [She eased into a simple swaying kind of dance with him for now. Nothing overly complicated for the moment, since they were sort of chatting.] And I enjoy dancing, so this is cool, too.

Do you have dances at home too?

Oh, yeah. Like with school and stuff. There's usually one or two a year.

Are they like this? I've never been to one in America.

Some of them. Some are more formal, some are casual. It depends on the dance, I think.

They are really into themes here. When they want flowers they really want flowers. [He figures that probably makes things different than your average dance just about anywhere.]

But it's pretty. And colorful. And smells nice. So, it's not a bad theme to have. Not like some of them that they've had.

This was a good one for a dance too. Pie wouldn't have worked as well.

[She laughed.]

No. And everyone would have been really hungry.

But, flowers is usually a pretty common theme. So are stars and hearts and decades... anything they can dress up and make look nice.

I'm glad it wasn't hearts. That could have gotten kind of gross depending on how they did it. [Hearts in the food trucks?]

Well, yeah. Literal hearts would have been pretty gross. Cute, cartoony hearts aren't bad though. You know... [She made a little heart shape with her hands.] Like this.

Do you have school dances and things in Japan?

We usually have festivals instead of dances.

Festivals sound fun. I've been to a few of those. Dances are more common, though, definitely. What kinds of things do you do at your festivals?

Different things I guess. [Is that helpful?] I haven't really gone to any. I wasn't that social before everything happened with the demon kingdom and now I'm not there much. [Partially because he's in prison.]

Oh.

[She considered that for a moment.]

You know what? You should have a festival, then. We could research some traditional ones in the library, pick one that sounds really cool, and put it together ourselves.

Do you think so? I mean, I'm okay with out it, but if you think other people would want to... [He's not really party planning material though.]

Oh sure. I mean, there's a good number of people here, so why not?

[She gave him an encouraging smile.]

I think it would be fun.

Cool!

[A festival!

It was like perfect timing as the music came to an end.]

We can work out the details later, okay? For now, let's just enjoy the party.
