Day 305 : MISTLETOE BOT MINGLE
[You won't hear them coming. You won't see their snare. The mistletoe bots are out and they're hunting you, two by two. You can run and you can hide, but eventually you will be caught, and then there's nothing left to do but kiss your way out!

"I.." Inara's eyebrows furrowed and she slowed down a bit. He thought she was there to see the horse? Well, honestly, she guessed she could see why he'd think that. She would have made her way there sooner or later.

"Thank you... Though I was actually hoping to run into you. I suppose I was just hoping to talk to you about, well... I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Wow, she felt like she was just stumbling over her wording when it came t him.

	His brows furrow as she cuts herself off, but he gestures towards the stable and follows her in. He doesn't notice the mistletoe bot zip in behind them. "She's just down here. 	She nods and heads inside, moving to the stall beside his Serenity. She smiled, pushing it open and was so occupied with reacquainting herself with the horse that she didn't even notice the bot that was following right behind Mal. 	Mal smiles to himself as Inara reaches out to the horse. It was good to have her back. He wouldn't admit it. At least he hoped he wouldn't... but it was nice. And as he was ruminating on this, the bot moved in between them and set up its barrier. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Inara smiled, fingers stroking over the horse's soft muzzle. She couldn't say that she had missed this because she hadn't remembered when she'd left, but.. This was nice.

As she was glancing over over, she froze as the bot set up it's barrier around her. Her gaze lifted slowly and her eyes widened. "What in the---"

"Kiss!"

"Shénme?" She looked over at Mal, looking completely bewildered.

	Mal completely closed off. He glared at the bot. "The kissing bots. Remember from last time," he asked. "Someone thinks it's fun to trap two people together and make them kiss." So... yeah... he may have thought about this a few times since she came back, but Mal hadn't expected to be actually facing the prospect so soon. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She drew her hand slowly away from the horse and turned to fully face Mal. "Barely." Inara glanced up at the bot and shook her head. It wanted them to kiss? She didn't rightly know what to think. She swallowed and nervously soothed her hands over the front of her dress. "And it won't let us go until we do this?" Stalling, that's exactly what she was doing. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Inara's eyebrows drew together as she watched him stepping back. Well that just said a lot right there. She couldn't exactly blame him for it but it still stung.

"I can assure you that's something you don't need to worry about." Her chin lifted a bit and she stared at him. "I know this might not be the most..." She paused and shook her head. "Let's just do this and we can both be on our way."

	This really isn't going well. At all. He nods and steps forward before the barrier can shove him into her and brings a hand up to softly cradle her head. He swallows his nerves and leans down to softly kiss her. He knows he should keep it quick. Keep it chaste. Don't let feelings get in the way. ... But he doesn't. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Inara stiffened unconsciously because well, this wasn't how any of this was suppose to happen. They weren't suppose to be shoved together because of a bot. She looked up at him, her eyes wide, her breath catching in her throat because he was being gentle. She'd just expected him to kiss her and be done with it but nothing could ever be that simple between them.

The smart thing would have been to pull away and then just walk off but when it came to Mal, her brain didn't always seem to work properly. And so she didn't pull away, in fact she stepped a little closer to him and one of her hands came up to rest gently on his chest.

Their kiss didn't seem to impress the bot though. "Kiss better!"

She wasn't going to fight the bot and to be honest, she liked how soft his lips were. Her free hand slipped up, cupping the back of his neck and she drew him closer, deepening their kiss.

This... this wasn't his fault. And if it gave him license to kiss her more, he'd take it gladly. So he didn't realize when the bot sprayed them with confetti and darted away. He didn't notice the horses huffing. He was too busy finding the hem of Inara's shirt and slipping a hand under it to press against her back. His kiss was becoming almost desperate. After all, it wasn't all too long after the last time they kissed that she disappeared. Mal was going to make the most of this.

This should have been a problem, she should have been pulling away from him. But she couldn't exactly help herself. She was enjoying the feel of his lips against hers entirely too much and the feel of his hands on her skin, it was enough to make her knees feel weak. Her arms were slipping over his shoulders, her fingers threading through his hair as she just lost herself in the feel of him.

	The horse was getting nervous. Mal registered its snorts and stomps. He pulled away a moment, just long enough to pull Inara out of the stall and close the door, perhaps catch his breath... before pulling her further towards a large pile of clean hay. She knew that she should put a stop to all of this the moment that Mal pulled away. She knew it and yet she did nothing at all to put things the way they were suppose to be. She wanted this and she wanted to be selfish and enjoy it for as long as she could.

She cast him an uncertain look as she was tugged towards the hay but she made no complaints and finally smiled at him. This was them now, not some bot that was pushing them to do things. She brought them to a stop right in front of the hay and reached up, fingers brushing across his jaw. "You're sure?"

	Mal paused and looked at her, trying to decide if this was a trick or not. He could pull away now if she wanted him to. It would hurt. Inara studied him and a smile began to pull across her lips. her hand slid from where she'd been stroking his jaw and then cupped the back of his neck, drawing him closer. Her heart was pounding and any thoughts she'd had that she should put a stop to this vanished.

"I've been sure for some time," she whispered as she angled her head so she could pull him down into another kiss.

	He sputters at that, but then she's kissing him again and Mal decides they have way too many clothes on. His coat is the first thing to go; it'd made an effective barrier between them and the hay anyway. Inara feels as though she might be dreaming, but there's no way she's wanting to wake up anytime soon if she is. She's quick to help Mal with his clothes and then she's working on her own. And while she's can't be sure how long either of them will be stuck there, she's willing to embrace whatever this new thing is between them and hold onto it for as long as she possibly can.

	So I thought I replied to this BUT how do we go about reporting this? lol is there a form to fill out? AND of course! Now that they've made that step, Inara isn't really wanting to go back even if she's hesitant to move to quickly forward. (Reply to this) (Parent)
