[Kanji makes another one of those strangled sounds, coming to entirely the wrong conclusion. This has gotta be him, right? The bots must know somehow, they're doing this on purpose because it's another guy. Because they think it's funny like everybody always does. It makes him feel guilty and sick and ashamed of himself and he wants to run away from it or punch it or something. Neither of those are real options thought.]

I think it's my fault. It's 'cause... Um... I'm, uh... That is... [He can't say it, can't do anything but stand there looking miserable while the robot keeps yelling at them. This, in his experience, is the part where he looses a friend.]

[Huh? Wait, what? It takes Kanji a second to get it and then he stares at Nico because holy shit, that changes things a lot. This is still weird and uncomfortable and he's still nervous but at least he doesn't feel like such a piece of crap about it anymore. He feels like they should probably talk about this but he's never good at that sort of thing and anyway they're still trapped here with the yelling robot. So he just swallows and nods, still looking pretty emotional as he tries the whole kissing thing again.

Hopefully the bots have kinda low standards for this 'cause he's never done it before but apparently that little peck the first time wasn't enough so he tries to make it more of an actual kiss. Or kisses, since apparently the pervy robots want that. They're a little light and hesitant in a way that's kind of sweet, coming from a guy as big and tough looking as he is. It's still weird but somehow knowing about each other makes it a little less uncomfortable. Under different circumstances it might even have been nice.]

[Well, now one more person knows, and the world hasn't ended. And maybe they'll still be able to talk to each other afterward. If this whole kissing thing doesn't make things horribly awkward. And it probably will. He can't see how it won't. It's already awkward.

He's on his toes again, using his hands on Kanji's arms for balance - though the barrier is at his back, so he won't have far to fall even if he does. He returns the kisses, carefully, and also hesitantly, following along. The thought that Kanji might be as new to this sort of thing as him takes the edge off his nerves some. It might have been nice.]

[The whole encounter ends with a shower of confetti which under any other circumstances Kanji would have found really cute. He lets go of Nico slowly, not wanting him to lose his balance with the barrier so suddenly gone. He's never been self-conscious of his height before. Is it always going to make kissing hard? Should he be worried about this? He runs a hand awkwardly through his hair, causing a little shower of confetti to rain down on the shoulders of his skull t-shirt. Quietly, in a tone very unlike his usual boisterous one he admits,]

I never actually told anybody before.

[Nico tucks his arms around himself as soon as he's released, shaking the bits of confetti out of his dark hair. The height thing goes both ways. It feels like everyone is taller, or bigger. Before today, he's never thought about that in terms of kissing someone. He's still hoping for a growth spurt. Oh, look, they have the same taste in T-shirts. He fixes his eyes on the skull on Kanji's shirt.]

That's what mine was. And it wasn't some big revelation or anything but still. Sometimes accepting things is the easy part. Livin' with 'em's harder. But it's what I'm tryin' to do, 'cause I said I would. Guess that don't make a lotta sense, huh?

No, it does. I think it makes sense. [He fidgets a bit. It's only fair to trade a story for a story...] I met Cupid on a quest. God of Love? [Just in case Kanji's world isn't familiar with Cupid.] He had something we needed, and ... he didn't want a fight. He wanted a confession. He wanted ... mine. For me to ... to admit how I felt. It wasn't something I was ready to do. For me, accepting it has been really hard.
