Day 280 [Spike Resouling Mingle / open*]
[It seems peaceful enough on surface. Just another average evening in the dome. Get some new inmates, have lunch, put a vampire's soul back.

Tonight is the night. They'll either come together as the team she wants them to be or this will fall apart. She gave out the final assignments yesterday. Now, it's a matter of having a little faith that they'll all do their part, and this spell will work.

She can feel the weight of the stake on her belt. It's not that the wood is heavy, but what it represents is—a choice she'll have to make to whether or not to take someone else's choices away.]

(OOC: *Open in that there are areas for different people like those mentioned by name in this OOC organizational post are welcome to tag into the appropriate stage below. Unnamed force members are also welcome to encounter Spike early on or be stationed at the Headquarters. Non-DF players are welcome to tag into the Library thread as uninformed library goers who will be turned away.

Encounters on the way

Spike isn’t sure what it is that alerts him that something is up. Or rather, he knows what it is but not what it is — just that something happened in the last couple of days. Something has entered the dome, something that gives him a sickening tingle down his spine, something that absolutely shouldn’t be here and after the progression of events, it can only really be one thing.

Hair slicked back, he tugs the leather duster on. Tightens the laces in his boots one last time.

At first he didn’t think Jack had the balls to do it and then he thought the Defence Force wouldn’t let him and now look at where they are. Dabbling in things they don’t understand, condemning him to an eternity of unspeakable torture and he didn’t even kill anyone, a fact that he sorely regrets now. At least then, it would be well deserved. This just seems disproportionately cruel.

Jaw set, he hits the streets. Takes course for the Defence Force headquarters, his first guess as to where these witches could be hiding with his bloody soul. This time, there won’t be any survivors even if he has to slaughter the entire dome — it wouldn’t be the first time in any case.

(( OPEN TO RANDOM ENCOUNTERS as Spike makes his way towards an untimely ensouling. Defence Force members out on their regularly scheduled patrols welcome, but please keep it to one-on-one threads for easy tagging. The attack/stalking group (Kitty (AoA), Data, Jack, Wally and M’gann) will be nearby to steer him in the right direction and intervene if things get too dangerous, so let’s not make it too dangerous or disruptive so he misses his own endgame. ))

[Artemis volunteered to watch the headquarters. Of course she did. Zatanna was going to be there. Not to mention her friend, M'gann and her boyfriend, Wally got picked for Spike babysitting. She wasn't about to sit this one out even if no one was requesting her directly. Not that she was bitter or anything. She's in her uniform—green and arrow-y. Not to mention she's got her bow and arrows with her. She's ready for whatever she runs into. Of course she didn't actually expect to be running into Spike alone before everything was ready to go.

This is normally where she'd have some greeting quip. No quip comes.]

The bow catches his attention and for a moment he wonders just how much arrows resemble stakes. Would it count if she got a clean enough hit in? [Back home a lot of those arrows would be made of more advanced, durable materials. Here? She makes all the arrows herself like she was taught when she was younger. Wood is the easiest to get and shape here. So, a lot like stakes.]

Yeah? Busy night? Hot date? [Because she can't just let him take off, right? She reminds herself not to glance around for the others. Is Wally watching right now? M'gann?]
