[ He wasn't nervous before. Uncomfortable, maybe or flustered or unsure of how to deal with this but not nervous. After that little comment tho? He definitely is. He's only 21 for heaven's sake! One previous boyfriend! Suddenly there's a reputation to live up to (what) and and...

He clears his throat and crouches down to carefully put the coffee mug away. Hopefully the bot won't care about it and leave it unspilled. ]

Well, uh... that's. That's good then. I mean, it ain't like we gotta make a big deal outta this or nothin'.

[Jack doesn’t give a toss about previous experience; he knows he can more than make up for any lack of expertise from the other side. Of course, he doesn’t really get how someone could be nervous about kissing either. He’d had plenty of practice by the time he was 21!

Nonetheless, he gives Aidan a reassuring smile.]

Absolutely not! [Then, more suggestively] Though it doesn’t mean we have to stint on it, either.

[He doesn’t bother putting the coffee down, just takes that final step closer and cups the side of Aidan’s face gently with his free hand as he leans in to press warm, friendly lips against Aidan’s. Nothing too presuming, but nothing particularly chaste, either.]

[ Before Helix, kissing wasn't loaded. It was just a thing that happened and yes, sometimes it involved awkward giggling and bumping noses, but it was never loaded. Then Helix happened and suddenly kissing meant something. It meant absolute fidelity, or at least that it was expected of Aidan if not from the other boy. It meant violent repercussions if that fidelity wasn't upheld, no matter the consequences. It meant Yuuri getting punched for doing something neither of them could've controlled, nor engaged in had they not been forced. It meant misplaced jealousy and anxiety, worrying about the aftermath, about whether or not this would count as cheating when he never would. It meant an unbalanced unfairness to their relationship, with him not being allowed to make friends while Helix flirted openly with people that were obviously attracted to him, "for fun".

It sucked the innocence out of something that was meant to be fun and even now with Helix gone, it's left Aidan worrying about what'll come after this. Who will get hurt? How big of a fight will this become?

A large part of that anxiety melts away when Jack takes initiative, drowns in how good the other smells and how warm and soft his lips are. For a kid that never really messed around all that much during his teens and who only recently discovered that his sexuality wasn't as cut and dry as he thought, this is dangerously potent. He falls into it, eyes closed and mind blank, lips parted as he tentatively reciprocates. ]

[Well, he was going to just give (more or less) what the bot wanted and leave it at that so as to spare the poor kid's feelings, but that response, hesitant and unsure as it is, is beautiful and he can't just leave it there without letting Aidan know how good it could feel to go just a little bit further.

So, rather than backing off as the little bot cheers and whoops and scatters them with confetti, he adjusts his weight so he's pressing just a little closer, hand curling around the back of Aidan's skull to support his head as he puts a little more weight behind the kiss, lips parting, warm breath and a hint of tongue on those soft, uncertain lips.

[ Later he might wonder if this is what it's like to be hypnotized because although he's at least a little bit aware of the confetti, he's not really pulling away. It's only been roughly two weeks since Helix disappeared but two weeks is an awfully long time for a boy in his early twenties and physical — sexual — contact is something he's been lacking for that time.

There's a soft, needy little noise that spills pasts his lips as he gives in, allowing entry should Jack want it. ]

[Oh, Jack wants it. He hasn't exactly been starved of physical affection, but it's all been with only person for what might quite possibly amount to the longest bout of monogamy in his life (if you don't count those kisses under the mistletoe at 'Christmas') and he's discovered today that he's hungry for variety.

So he's totally taking advantage of those lips parting beneath his, and slipping his tongue between them to get a proper taste.]

[It's weird, but even though the hands exploring his torso feel good and even though he's congratulating himself on yet another successful conquest, there's something about this that feels... wrong. Jack has never been one to take other people's feelings into account and yet there's a part of him now thining about Ianto and wondering how Ianto would feel if he saw him letting this go on so long after the bot's departed.

So, eventually, reluctantly, he pulls slowly away, caressing the kid's cheek with a gentle thumb and smiling softly at him.]

Hey. The bot's gone, you know.

[He lifts an ironic eyebrow at the 'sir' (he's so used to hearing it in Ianto's accent that it actually sounds weird coming from somebody else) and smiles.]

It's starting to feel like everybody lives in the Clocktower apartments! Perhaps we should take an inventory. Or - you know - we could just go round knocking on doors to find out who else is hiding in there!
