Sorry. [ He swallows. Really wishes he could say the same but he doesn't really know what his type is and maybe Mal falls under that category? Who knows. He didn't think Helix did and then there they were. There's some awkward shifting, voice bordering on a stammer — which is practically unheard of for him. ]

I, uhm... I know it must be real weird since I uh. I had a boyfriend. But I promise it ain't like that! I don't just... go around likin' everyone I meet or nothin'... so. So if you're worried about... stuff. Don't be.

Ain't that I'm worried 'bout. Don't much like bein' told what to do by these things.

[The stammering stays Mal a bit though. He's not one to go around kissing people. Well... women sure. He's happy to kiss them. But not when someone's forcing him to! But he's not cruel. And Aidan is really embarrassed and... Mal does have a protective side to him.

The barrier pushes against his back, shoving him closer to Aidan.]

Gorrammit. C'mere.

[Mal grabs the front of Aidan's shirt to pull the kid closer and roughly smashes his lips against the others. Almost the second they touch, a burst of confetti showers over them and the bot's gone. Mal pulls back and wipes his lips, looking a touch embarrassed under all the curmudgeonness.]

[ The move takes him by surprise, gasp muffled quickly against Mal's mouth and before he knows it it's over. Confetti and stumbling back and trying to cool the hell down — he's not usually this flustered over something as harmless as a kiss, but the situation is weird. So weird. ]
