250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

Perhaps best to stay in bed today, Marina. ]

Screaming and running are expected. Piper wasn't surprised to see someone else with the same idea she had, and even less surprised to see someone actually acting it out. However, screaming and running was likely to draw some unwanted raptor attention, so that definitely couldn't be good.

"Sarah!" Piper waved at her. "Over here!" She had a good hiding spot. She also waved her hands rather sharply towards one the raptors that was closest to catching Sarah, freezing it in its tracks. "Hurry!" They couldn't stay long because that thing would unfreeze eventually, but she could also blow things up to scare them off it got bad enough.

Sarah stopped short at the sound of her name and looked over in the direction of Piper. And then the raptor was almost upon her. Curiously enough though, it froze in it's tracks. She didn't give it a second thought and ran over to Piper.

"I thought they were a dream and then it started getting closer. And it smelled and... Oh I thought I was going to wake up at home!"

"Yeah, unfortunately, they seem pretty real," she said. She looked around. "Apparently, they've been around before. I haven't seen them, but I'm kind of glad. I'm hoping this won't be a regular thing here." She stepped out, watching the frozen raptor out of the corner of her eye while checking to make sure things were clear otherwise.

"We should go. That'll start moving again soon enough. My powers aren't as strong here." She gestured for Sarah to follow. "We can take cover at my restaurant for now. There's food there, and it'll be safe enough until this is over. If it's anything like other weird stuff, it shouldn't be more than a day or two."

Funny that she picked that particular good witch, since that had been Piper's choice of costume for her first Halloween after getting her powers.

"Yeah... like that," she nodded. "My sisters, too. Though, they're not here." Well, for Phoebe, not anymore, at least. She looked a little sad at the thought, but pushed it back quickly. They needed to focus on what was going on around the dome at the moment.

	Piper paused as the dark kicked in, waiting for her eyes to adjust. "Not much further. We should be okay." It was all good, really. Piper could defend them. 	Sarah was happy to take the other woman's hand and followed meekly to the restaurant. She breathed a sigh of relief once they entered the building and sat down as far from the door as possible. 	"I hope not. I haven't heard of them getting inside any buildings, yet," she said. Sorry, Sarah, but Piper hadn't used her powers a lot in MarinaNova, yet.
