250 - Fear Itself Mingle
[ Today is a day where most would be at risk of oversleeping.The dome lies dark like in the dead of night. The sun hasn’t risen today, streetlights casting a dull yellow glow and occasionally flickering out into nothing, only to spark back to life a moment later. There is no electric flicker from the kiosk. The Wardens are still. The wardens are silent.

The dome isn’t silent. There is a rustling of leaves, a snapping of twigs. Claws, scraping against concrete. The inhuman screech of an animal in peril, an animal hunting, an animal hunted. A screech that promises sharp claws and sharper teeth and blood.

The dome isn’t still either. There is something moving, thick as a shadow, tangible as a chill down your spine. Something that doesn’t belong here, something that snuck in when no one was looking. A boogeyman under the bed. A ghost in the closet. A will o’ the wisp, blinking in and out of existence under the flickering streetlights. Whatever it is it’s moving, leaving a trail of cold, dead fear wherever it passes. Something dark. A shadow so pitch black that it blots out the very lights in your heart, dragging your fears out screaming and kicking, reducing even the strongest, toughest man to a blubbering baby.

	Sarah didn't know anything about this place. Lack of sun and morning announcement didn't mean much to her. She'd slept somewhere, but she wasn't quite sure where. So she was out exploring when she found out things weren't right. In fact, it's pretty easy to find Sarah. She's screaming and running and not sure what is happening. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	She looks to be really upset and Richie quickly holds up his hands to show he doesn't have anything in them that could hurt her. "Hey, hey, look, I'm one of the good guys," he tells her. 	The orange jumpsuit probably pegs her as one of the new members who arrived yesterday. "I was sleeping somewhere, but I don't remember where it was. I just woke up and it was still dark. Gear understands even if she doesn't say it, because yeah, dinosaurs. They freaked him out when he first saw them and he still hasn't gotten used to them yet. Especially now that they're inmates.

"Yeah, sorry that you got to know some of the weirder parts of the prison so fast," he says that sincerely. "We haven't had an inmate break out in a while and it looks like something bigger caused it, since the power keeps--" And right then the lights flicker above them and go out entirely.

	"An inmate breakout? But... aren't we all inmates?" And then the light goes out. Sarah looks up as though expecting it to come back on. When it doesn't, she instinctively moves closer to her new found friend. "So this doesn't happen either?" she asks tremulously. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Well, yeah, but Sector 6 is for inmates that aren't like us," he explains. "They can't communicate in any way we would understand so they're put in their own region in the prison. Someone let these raptors out, which is not good, because who knows what else could get out now."

He sends a message to Backpack, and the hatch on its back opens up a coil arm extending and a bright light suddenly shining the area around them. "Heh, gotta love LEDs. Too bad I can't say the power's never gone out on us, but last time something was trick to break into the dome."

	Sarah could only assume an LED was the thing shining light. She's too busy looking at him agog to really register everything he's telling her. "But... there are non human inmates? That can't talk?"
