[ It's a sweltering hot day under the sea! Luckily the wardens have provided the necessary means to keep cool: whether you're sunbathing at the beach, sniping your fellow inmates with a fully loaded super soaker or just cooling off under a tree with a cold treat, this is the place to do it! ]

[ helen is taking the day to wander around. she starts near the clinic and makes her way around the entire dome. she may be dressed in something more revealing than normal, but she wears it like her favorite outfit and likely has a few water pistols tucked away somewhere.

somewhere.

it's evening by the time she makes her way to beach, however, and she stops by the shoreline to let the water cross her feet as she just thinks. the water brings back a lot of memories, both good and bad, memories of being stranded at sea, of a certain ocean liner breaking apart and leaving too many people to count to die in the icy waters. she has a certain love and hate for the ocean, a duality that exists in every aspect of her life.

she splashes the water with a foot and then turns to move further down the shoreline. ]

[ Before Marina, Aidan had never even seen a beach. There were lakes of course, streams and puddles and sprinklers, but never a beach. Despite this lack of sand and seawater during his formative years, he's managed to grow fond of the place in prison. Arrivals, birthday parties, holiday traditions... most of them took place right here.

He's been down here a few hours now, as is evident by the state of his sunburnt shoulders. Gingers and all that, but he couldn't help it. He missed summer and so he spent large parts of it right here, chilling on the beach with his feet in the water. He looks up as she approaches, giving a friendly smile and a wave. ]

	There might be something we can find to put on it, a plant called aloe vera can be made into a substance that's quite soothing on burns. [ but she smiles in response. she understands. it's why she's dressed in something that might even be considered adolescent. ] In the meantime... enjoying the sun doesn't seem to be a crime. [It was cooler that evening, and now that things had calmed down, Tieria had wandered down to the beach to think as well. He watched the figure walking the waterline, waiting until she was close enough to be identified.]

	It does. Perhaps because of the proximity to the water. It makes it easy to cool off. [It made sense to him.] It does feel cooler now, though, than it was earlier in the day. If that's true, perhaps I missed the optimal time to spend by the water.

[ not that she particularly minds. she has her own issues with ocean water and memories, so perhaps it's for the best that she waited. then again, a nighttime swim would remind her even more forcefully of that fateful night. ]

I hope you're right. I think we could all use a break from the heat.

[The same for him. Celestial Being's planetside base had been hidden on a small tropical island. He'd spent a good amount of time there when not on the Ptolomaios. He did feel she was being a bit distant with her comment about the ocean, so he let it go.]

I am certain there are always those who do not use common sense when dealing with such things as extreme climates, however I did not notice any difficulties over the network. I doubt the clinic will be crowded.

There certainly is no real reason for anyone to have been too careless today about it.

[He looked out across the water. It wasn't far to the dome wall from the edge of the sand, so it wasn't like a massive expanse of sea. In a way, it was a little disheartening... a grim reminder of their current situation.]

I am glad you have not succumbed to the heat. [He respected Helen. And that was saying a lot. She came across as someone who had her head on securely, for the most part, at least, and was intelligent. Tieria always respected intelligence and those who were willing to learn. The fact that she was a doctor spoke of her dedication, certainly.]

	[He nodded.] My body has a higher tolerance for extremes. Though, that does not necessarily mean I like them. [He really disliked being on a planet's surface for a variety of reasons.
