Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

I don't know yet. I talked to Caroline, who is fine, and she ran into Elena before she found me. You're the only other one I've seen so far. [He looks over at him.] What about you?

You're the first I've seen. [ He's glad to hear that Elena's accounted for, but he's obviously in no rush to locate her as he promptly takes a seat on the nearest bench. What's up with that, hm? Well, things have been awkward between him and Elena for a little while now -- or ever since he decided to dissolve that sex license thing they had; and a whole lot more of something something after he attacked Caroline.

For right now, it's enough to know that Elena's not in mortal danger. The last thing he wants to do is to put another frown line on her face because of something horrible he'll inevitably spit out. He can't help himself. (Or can he?) ]

I hear they're giving out blood at the kiosk.

Tsk, tsk. Tell me you're not planning on starving yourself. [ Oh, look at that. He's playing the part of the concerned older brother. This will be fun. ]

Okay. So no giant tentacle monsters and being stuck in some weird bowl, dome-y... ball of suck. [ He reaches down and attempts to tug the anklet off for the hundredth time that day. ] This itches.

[ A beat. ] Why did you go on a date with barbie? If you're trying to get Elena jealous, you know you're only going to end up hurting her.

I'm not sure even we would come back from drowning at the bottom of the ocean. You know, with all that water pressure.

I'm not trying to make Elena jealous, Damon. Last time I talked to her about anything involving that, she told me she was in love with you.

[Maybe not in those exact words, but something close enough to them.]

But then you had to go ruin that and then break Caroline's arm. So if one of us is hurting Elena? It's you, not me.
