Day 221 — Morning mingle : Main shelter
[Wake up and smell the lack of coffee. You're on a bunk bed. Maybe you're a top and maybe you're a bottom. There are five other people in your room. Maybe they're friends or enemies or faces you barely recognize if at all. It doesn't matter much. You can leave this room and you don't need to come back to it.

You should get your rations though. You're probably hungry. You're definitely a little sluggish of body. What happened to that bruise you got sparing yesterday? What happened to your newly dyed hair? Mystery, mystery... Move along. Find the public bathrooms and do your business with a hundred of your closest friends.

Find the kiosk and get your rations. Careful not to let anyone steal them. You won't get more until tomorrow and the bots won't care. They aren't here to hold your hand. If you get sick or hurt and they deem it necessary they will take you to the hospital whether you wish it or not. But why dwell on such things? You're here now and you might as well enjoy it. You even get a free day today.]

[ option 1: just waking up ]

[ Hei was no stranger to waking up in strange places, his senses cataloging the minute changes in sound, in air flow, in the scratchy fabric of the blanket brushing against his skin. Before opening his eyes, he knew something was different, making the terror of the previous night a lie.

Of course, all his suppositions and quiet analysis gave way to the voice of Savvy over the intercom. This was no longer Marina. Rising, Hei quietly swung his legs over the top bunk and then lightly jumped down. For those in his rooms, feel free to witness his quiet pacing through the room as he briefly takes a look at each of his new roommates. Best to know ~~if Saya is near~~ who he might be up against before leaving the room. ]

[ option 2: Roaming ]

[ Hei was having a deuce of a day and by midafternoon, he is quietly clutching at his stomach and leaning against the wall as he roams. He's looking pale and listless, more quiet then usual. He hasn't been injured, and he hasn't been caught roaming through the fields where he shouldn't be outside the shelter.

No, as the intermittent gurgling of his stomach attests, he is simply hungry. And while he will grow used to the reduced rations quickly (He's had far less in the fields of Brazil), it will take time. ]

[After successfully hiding her rations in her dorm room, Tear's taken to wandering slash observing the area open to inmates. The need to get information and to shake off the weighted down sensation pervading her body far surpasses the... exposed feeling she's had for a while, no fault of the admittedly tight jumpsuit but the lack of anything underneath. Never know how much you miss something till it's gone, as the saying goes.

All that takes a complete backseat when she spots that figure against the wall, however. It takes her a moment to place it, that feeling lodged in her throat that threatens to stop her breathing while she's rooted to the ground before forcing her towards him with an unconscious step.

Yes, it's relief after all, isn't it.

She hadn't expected that, but doesn't deny it, though it raises matters she'd rather not face now. Not out in the open. Holding herself back from another step, she's aware of everything else again-- the hesitation, the self-consciousness, namely-- as she debates on calling to him.

But she doesn't, there's no point. He'll have noticed her by now]

[ He does notice, although it took him longer to react then it should have, even mimed though the delay usually was. Still, he turned, placing his back fully against the wall as he leaned, a true smile of relief gracing his face as he acknowledged his erstwhile companion. ]

[She can overlook the likely half-sarcastic welcome as that smile is all too real. And though she'd like nothing more than to return it in kind, she's already forgotten herself and that smile threatens to do so even more if she gives into it. Instead she brushes away all such thoughts, feelings and telling body language over the fact that he's not gone and left her too, to adopt her usual mask that lacks any of that information.

Self-consciousness and image worries are forced under tight wrap as well; if she stays stuck on those, it becomes perceptible to others, she's learned]

...It hasn't been all that welcoming. [A barely noticeable shrug]

They may not have expected us. Welcomes can often be excused in such circumstances. [ although no less judged. ] Are you feeling well?

[ Pushing off the wall, standing on two slightly unsteady feet, he carefully looked over Tear, wanting to see if she too, had experienced the same strange phenomenon that Hei had. He knew quite well how long it took his hair to grow. ]

Even in emergency circumstances, I doubt they wouldn't have known we would be coming in far enough advance. It's not that it was unexpected, it's that they didn't care. [The Warden that spoke earlier practically fed and enforced her belief with its telling attitude.

She crosses her arms over her chest, and though it's probable to think it's due to Hei's wandering eyes, it's really simply because she's trying to maintain a distanced aura]

Why wouldn't I be? [She too, feels like she's just come out of a heavily sedated, stiff sleep, but the more she can find out while giving less away...]

It's just how we've looked for a while now. After all, if MarinaNova faculties are in emergency or down, inmate maintenance is likely least prioritized compared to most everything else, so a routine or schedule for it would be disrupted, thus the discrepancies between our appearances and conditions there to here...

Too much time has passed for a simple transference, unless they're required to move us in more physically tangible ways.

[ a shuttle perhaps, or something else. But considering the true danger they had been in, Hei doubted whether they truly survived the destruction of the dome. The logical conclusions, sometimes, should be considered. ]

They might not have to move us physically. If there are many levels, like before, they'd almost certainly have locks to stop flooding in early sections.

So a different mental landscape? Waking up to everything suddenly repaired like nothing happened would cause more questions than a "transfer"... and if you wanted to kickstart theories in the wrong direction...

[Give away information about "other domes" relatively freely and in spurts to distract from the main one...]

[WHAT? Sob. Fine. Korra takes the pot back with only a moment's hesitation and a slight pout. She puts it on the stove and turns the heat on high (yes, she can operate a stove. Sort of. She saw Derek do it.)]

Yeah, I guess.

[She stares at the pot. Okay, yeah, she just turned the stove on, but she really doesn't want to wait for the water to boil. She huffs and uses her waterbending to get it started.

Well. Tries to. It doesn't actually work.]

I can't bend. [Panic sets in, sense memory of another time and another place when her bending was taken from her.] I can't bend!
