The prince, young, spoiled, and much indulged sits poised to inherit the throne of Frell as he was born to do, prevented only by the will of the Queen Regent, his mother, still mourning the death of her husband, the much-loved King. She gives one reason after another to detain the coronation of her son, who she fears will ruin the kingdom, but how long can she keep him from what is rightfully his?

The nobility is far from oblivious to the plight of the royal family, of course, and everyone has their own vision of what should come to pass. Families of stature are bringing their daughters to court, hoping to have them chosen to be ladies in waiting to the Queen, hoping one will catch the eye of the prince or someone else of wealth and influence. Lords, sensing the impending change in power, hope to befriend the right people or plot to bring their families the status and fortune of the favorites to the crown.

Even servants play their part and everyone has spies. Who can be trusted in this court of intrigue, when motives are far from pure and ambitions on the rise?


I'm looking to create a royal court, a court full of intrigue and ambition inspired by the Tudor court of King Henry VIII, a court on the brink of change, where no one is sure who will emerge victorious. Interested?

Welcome to Harmony. It’s a lovely place, clear blue skies and attractive buildings. It’s funny, but even though all you can remember is this place, it feels like you’ve never been here before.

Why does it feel that way? Well, probably because it’s true. Sssh, don’t tell; this is a giant experiment, one you can’t get out of. We care about you here in Harmony, and you’re very important to us. We hand picked you from your world, because there was just something about you. We know you will be helpful.

It’s important that you feel at home. Almost like you’re not in an experiment at all. So we’re going to give you a new set of family, friends, and memories. Because, don’t forget – we care about you. We want you to feel at home, seeing as from now on, this is your home.
So here’s the gist – your character was plucked from their world, and brought to this one. It’s unclear if it’s an alternate dimension or even a different planet. The place has similar atmosphere and appearances as Earth, but how would you ever know if it was or not? From there, something happened to their memory. It’s not clear how that happened, either. All you know is there is a little scar, on your neck, right below your hairline. Maybe you had it before. Or maybe, it has nothing to do with your memory. You have no idea.

After you were brought here, and your memory erased, a new one was implanted. Some got a new brother or sister, some got new friends, and some even got new spouses or fiancés. It’s weird, really. You feel like you know them so well, and at the same time, like you don’t know them at all. You have a job, and a place to live. You have a memory of going to school at Harmony High, and parents that have died peacefully. You remember every aspect of this place, because after all, you’ve lived here since you were born.

In addition to all that, from time to time, you’ll get a call from the Doctor’s office. You’ll come in, they’ll give you a supposedly harmless shot, and you’ll be on your way. Strange thing is you’ll start to feel really different after you get that shot.

A war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels were fighting against the dragon and its angels. But the dragon lost the battle. It and its angels were forced out of their places in heaven and were thrown down to the earth. That snake, who fools everyone on earth, is known as the devil and Satan.

At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be set free. He will fool the countries of Gog and Magog, which are at the far ends of the earth, and their people will follow him into battle. They will have as many followers as there are grains of sand along the beach, and they will march all the way across the earth.

The Road So Far ...
Thousands of years ago, long before anyone can remember, an Angel named Lucifer fell from Heaven, and was banished to the deepest depths of Hell, locked there by over six-hundred seals set by God and his warriors. There was a minor hitch in their planning, though, for it only took the breaking of sixty-six seals to release him from his prison.

The first seal broke when a righteous man shed blood in Hell. That righteous man was, Dean Winchester, who'd sold his soul to save the life of his brother, Sam. When divine intervention brought Dean back from the dead, they thought it was to stop Lillith, Lucifer's right-hand demon, from breaking the sixty-six seals it would take to release Lucifer from hell. The Brothers Winchester thought that killing Lillith was the answer.

They were lied to.

The angels were working a different angle: bringing about the destruction of the human race so they could bring paradise to earth. With help from Ruby, a demon who seemed to be on the side of good for whatever reason, Sam touched base with the demon within, a gift from the Yellow Eyed bastard who had fed his blood to Sam as a child, to strengthen himself so he would be able to defeat Lillith. He had no idea that Ruby had lied to him from the beginning, using him to kill Lillith and break the sixty-sixth seal, releasing Lucifer into the world.

Now ...
It's been almost thirty years since the seals were broken. The human race has been pushed to the brink of extinction, and they're barely hanging on. For the first time in recorded history, hunters from all over the world have banded together, what few of them are left, to try and find a way to bring an end to this terror, before the human race has been eliminated.

Sam and Dean are dead, have been for about ten years now. They fought a good fight, they did their best, but it just wasn't enough. Lucky for us, they didn't leave us completely unprotected. A new generation of hunters have started popping up, children of those who managed to survive the rise of the demons long enough to have kids.

We live in a broken world. Exorcising the demons just doesn't seem to help anymore; they just pop up a couple of hours later from one of the many gateways to hell that have opened up around the world. Working technology is few and far between. Finding a computer or a cell phone that works properly is difficult, unless you happen to know a techno-geek who can hack into the old SAT-COM systems and get you online.

There are whispers, though, of a gun that can do the unthinkable: kill demons. There are also rumors of a book that contains some of the most powerful exorcisms and rituals known to man, including one that can close all the gates to hell and send Lucifer back to the pit for good. Are the rumors too good to be true, or are they exactly what they say they are?

Here is what happens: maybe you're sitting down to dinner at a fancy restaurant. Maybe you're just waking up on a dreary Monday morning. Maybe you're rocking your child to sleep. Then, all of a sudden, there is a flash of light, a roaring noise, and then... Nothing. You wake up in a lavish, unfamiliar bedroom; there is a knock on the door and in comes a house elf, huge eyes and batlike ears and all, with a tray of your favorite breakfast foods. The sun is shining down on a beautiful morning in a place you've never seen before. What happened to you? Where did your life go? And how do you get it back?

The Manor is a panfandom RPG, dedicated to encouraging character development and relationships based around plot arcs designed by the moderators. Your character is taken out of their lives at any point, even after their deaths, and dropped into a place cobbled together from bits and pieces of buildings from across the various universes. You never know when you'll take a turn and enter the Parthenon, or the brig of a Starfleet vessel. You are housed with people of your own kind: if you are a heroic character, you are situated near the rooms of the other heroes. A villain? You're with your murderous pals in another wing of the Manor. But how can life in this frightening place compare to the one you had? How can you befriend these unkind strangers?

That's where They come in. The Ladies of the Manor, the Mistresses of the House, the Deadly Duo, the Raving Rulers. They are the White Witch Jadis, ruler of Narnia, and Lady Mary Van Tassel, summoner of the Headless Horseman. They stay in their tower, look down on the Manor, and make changes in your life. They might decide one day that you need some romance, and spike your drink and that of another person in the Manor so that you fall hopelessly in love for about a week. Maybe they want you to make a few enemies, so they make sure you get lost in the villains' wing. And maybe they decide that you've gotten too uppity, and need to spend a little time dead. But don't worry: no one's dead for long, here.

PREMISE

You wake up to the smell of smoke.


When the bombs dropped in early 2008, it was expected that the virus would be eradicated. After all, nothing could survive the devastation of nuclear power. Nothing could possibly crawl up from the wreckage of a twisted land. That was how the United Nations justified their choice to Quarantine and abandon the United States of America – Canada and Mexico closed their borders, and the bomb was dropped. The virus burned hard under the nuclear autumn that followed, but it did not die. Nothing could stop the creatures that came out of the wasted hole of the Midwest – the Infected lived to hunt. Nothing could stop them. Or so it seemed to the rest of the world.

You wake up to lull of voices.


Seemingly abandoned by the rest of the world, the few who had sustained the blast began to band together. They found a common goal: Survive. Live, but not at any cost. To carry on with humanity intact, that was the only possible hope for the future of the Remaining States of America. Brought together under a vivacious leader, people crossed the country at great peril to come to New York, to live in the Salisbury Hotel. Safety was found in numbers, after all. And for a time, they lived in peace. Those who knew to fight, trained others. Those who could gather and hunt, they shared their skills. Gardens grew. The Infection was kept at bay. Hope for a cure began to whisper its way through the Compound. Caravans appeared on their last legs, praying for safe haven. But the seemingly idyllic landscape was bound to erupt again.

Present day Aiode Falls, Maine is home to many residents from all over the globe. And Universe. The little college town is growing, and becoming home to more and more people all the time. Some of them have no idea how they came to arrive, and some can never go home. As the University gets darker with new arrivals harboring less than happy intentions, so does the city. It is now home to metahumans, vampires, humans, demons, ghosts, aliens and even celestial beings. All of them with defined morals (or none, for that matter) and each with an allegiance. Those without a chosen allegiance are considered fair game, as both sides subconsciously prepare.


There is a constant battle for good and evil in this town, and only one side can prevail.

PREMISE

It was a quiet day on the campus of E. Paul University as Professor Reed experimented in his lab below Verne Hall Dorm. The teachers and teachers assistants that were a mere floor up and certainly the students living in the numerous floors even above that had no idea what was about to happen. But when Professor Reed's experiment turned horribly wrong seemingly everyone was affected. The tear in the dimensional fabric of the universe sucked those who were in the building into it's vortex dropping them into an entirely different time and space. Now those who were affected must band together survive the shifting of their world and the new cultures and experiences that await them before the next world is the end of them all.


HOW IT PLAYS

So, you say, how does this game work?

The tear in the fabric of the universe will happen roughly one week after the start of the game. The characters at that time will be pushed into an alternate reality where they will have to adjust to new social and cultural climates. What will this mean for you? We, as mods, will give a description of the alternate universe that you will be playing in and you will have to understand and play with the stipulations that universe brings along. In some cases universes will call for a particular social hierarchy (such as the jobs on a pirate ship or the class system in the Renaissance) and for these situations the mods will roll a dice (yes an actual dice) to assign jobs/classes. The idea is that things are always changing and that the characters have to adjust (or not adjust and maybe lose some marbles along the way) and that we're always playing fresh situations- so one month you may be the captain of a space ship and the next you may be a peasant scrounging for food in the Medieval England.

Roughly once a month we will post a vote for the upcoming world shift and you as players are welcome (and expected) to vote for and/or suggest the next AU that we play in.

Despite the movement of game time (which will be in "real time" according to our world, though the years will change depending on the AU) the movement of time in the original universe in which EPU exists will be moving much slower. Characters which are new to the game after the initial shift will start by walking into Verne Hall and suddenly find themselves in the AU that the game is currently playing in.

As we shift worlds, your characters will gain ghost knowledge of where they are. Despite the fact that you play, say, an art major, if we shift into a space opera AU you will have an innate/intangible understanding of how to perform your job as the ship's captain or as we move into a fairytale village you'll know where you live and that the strange elf in your house is in fact your husband, while still being entirely self-aware as well.

The use of NPCs will be greatly encouraged in this game as each world will come with a new set of people surrounding you. Ask your fellow players and mods to play NPCs for you or if you have an idea of a character you want to play briefly, then let the mods know.

Note: For some yet-unexplained reason the blackberries that the school issues to students and faculty members seem to work even in worlds where there are no towers, though only on the school network. This means that your characters can post to their IJs and text each other- but only each other. There won't be any phone calls from home, any emails from your girlfriend across campus, and your friend's page isn't going to show Joey-from-History-Class.
