Game Premise
The year is 2003. It's been nearly five years since the fall of Voldemort, and things in the Wizarding World have both changed and remained the same. Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic have been rebuilt to their original glories, and under the new Minister of Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt's watchful eye, Diagon Alley has been completely restored to the splendor of old. Once again, Diagon Alley is the the center of the British Wizarding Community. With new shops and restaurants are opening all the time, as well as an increase in available residential space and the surrounding street ways, Diagon Alley is definitely the place to be.

Charing Cross is a game that centers on the everyday lives of Witches and Wizards as they navigate through this world. Focus will be on relationships and characterization, with the occasional game-wide plot thrown in for fun. The game will be adult in nature, so you must be over 18 to apply.
The Players
Charing Cross is looking for active, social players interested in character development. Players are expected to offer up their own plots and see them through. Plots that affect the whole game are welcome! There will be a monthly plot post where players can discuss ideas and how they'd work.

And to make matters worse, one of their own was working up a plan that would sacrifice his peers to better himself. As if that weren't enough, someone is out there with malicious intent toward people who are "special". Someone is hunting and rounding up anyone with abilities. No one knows who the hunter is or where the hunter comes from. And no one knows where their peers are going. Will opposing sides find allies in each other to end this menace, or will they do as they always have and serve only themselves and their own purposes? Only time will tell... and time is something they're running out of.

PREMISE

You wake up to the smell of smoke.


In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus.

You wake up to the crackle of dead airwaves.


Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty.

On December 26th, 2009, the cruise ship Nausicaä set sail from Miami to Bermuda on her maiden voyage.

In the months beforehand, 100 lucky people from all over the world won themselves a ticket with a budding cruise line, Odyssey Lines. Some entered themselves, some didn't - though it was explained that a friend, family, or co-worker anonymously submitted their name in a contest. To all winners, it seemed like a dream come true. An all-expenses paid New Years celebration in paradise. Plane tickets to Miami, and home from Bermuda were included.

The Nausicaä was set to arrive in Bermuda on January 4th, 2010. That never happened.

On New Years Eve, a terrible storm hit them at sea, pushing them off-course and sending them deeper into the Bermuda Triangle. All outside communication with the world was lost. Satelite devises, such as tracking, died. Compasses began to spin. Cell phones stopped working. They were lost at sea.

On January 2nd, the Nausicaä turned what was presumably East, knowing that eventually they'd hit something. This, too, never happened. Though direction was never altered, the sun rose and set in a new position every day.

Crew started disappearing. The captain kills himself. The Nausicaä is lost in the Bermuda Triangle, its passengers left to fend for themselves.

They never meant for it to happen as they sat around the book of tales. All they wanted was for the stories to tell themselves. Four young students sat around the book experimenting with spells and taking notes. After trying for what seems like hours one of the four gave her final attempt.

And that is when it happened. There was a resounding boom throughout the castle. There was an explosion of light and the pages flew through the room. Once the shaking stopped the girls gathered their things and made it back to their rooms before anyone noticed. After continuing the next few days as normal they decided the spell had backfired.

But they couldn't be more wrong.

The spirits of tales have taken over the students at Hogwarts. Strange things are happening and no one knows why. Some tales have managed to find students with a likeness to their characters; others weren't so fortunate.

The Cylons were created by Man.
They were created to make life easier on the Twelve Colonies.
And then the day came when the Cylons decided to kill their masters.
After a long and bloody struggle an armistice was declared.
The Cylons left for another world. The humans slowly recovered.
A remote space station was built where Cylon and human could meet and maintain diplomatic relations.
Every year the Colonials send an officer...
Every year the Cylons send no one.
No-one had seen or heard from the Cylons in over forty years...
... until they returned without warning. Developing, growing in its hatred of its own creators, they grew to the point of emulating them to infiltrate their government and take down their defenses. With such complete surprise on the side of the Cylons, it seemed impossible that anyone would survive the Cylon Genocide.
