On August 14th, 2003, a blackout struck the North-Eastern area of the United States of America. Both Nomaj and Wizard-kind were affected by the incident.

Magic became unstable. Simple spells could not be cast went attempted, accidental magic became rampant. The barriers that guarded the magical world from the Nomaj-world fell, revealing everything to people who did not, could not, or would not believe.

Fights broke out, magical areas were invaded and explored. The MACUSA president had to approve an emergency Obliviation Blast to wipe the minds of all Nomaj’s. Two Obliviation Blasts were cast and barriers were restored by August 17th. Most Nomaj’s have forgotten about what they had seen. Most.

President Gilroy St. Gillius has upped the security for the larger magical locations, including Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All witches and wizards have received identification cards and contact with Nomaj’s has been restricted. The Anti-Nomaj campaign has begun once again. “Keep our world clean and safe!”
