Minister of Magic Tom Marvolo Riddle is looking to retire on his 79th birthday at the end of the year after a six decade long career at the Ministy - fourty years of which being a beloved Minister who brought about equal rights between Purebloods and Muggle-borns. Rumour has it, Minister Riddle is going to spend more time with his ailing mother, Merope, who has been quite ill since the passing of Minister Riddle's Muggle father four years ago. The Knights of Walpurgis - a Pureblood Traditionalist group lead by Bellatrix Lestrange - is looking to seize this opportunity of Riddle's impending retirement and seat themselves in the Minister's chair. Their goal is clear - they wish to undo Minister Riddle's work and rebuild the tiered society that once was with Purebloods reigning supreme. As extreme as their goals are, the Knights have a keen following and look set to take over. The only people seemingly bold enough to stand in the Knights way are the Order of the Phoenix - the group once lead by Albus Dumbledore, who supported Riddle's campaign back in 1965 when he put in a bid to become Minister. However, Albus Dumbledore died peacefully in his sleep back in the summer of 1997 and the Order has yet to name Dumbledore and Riddle's successor. | |||
