In 1954 when Grindlewald was at the height of his reign over Europe the Breach happened. It was a small isolated incident but the impact of it on the Wizarding World touched everyone. It happened in America where many thought the war had yet to spread. The death toll was in the hundreds, many of which were children, as magical and muggle alike died by gun or wand fire. Ministry representatives the world over were quick to send help in covering up and explaining the incident to the muggle world. One thing was clear though, Grindelwald's ideas were starting to ring true with a great deal more people. It was the junior secretary to the Minister, Tom M. Riddle, a young rising member of the Ministry that devised the solution. It was a more peaceful alternative. One that would not cause bloodshed and resentment. One that would not alienate those born outside of wizarding society as much as a war with muggles would. The Wizarding World had to become completely seperate from the muggle one. When muggles had used sword and fire it had been easy to thwart witch hunts but now with guns, nuclear weapons, and technology that magical people didn't understand muggles had become truly dangerous. The first children born into the completely seperate Wizarding world are now begining their last year of Hogwarts.
