 A decade has passed since the Battle of Hogwarts. For most of the magical world, life after the end of the Second War was been relatively peaceful. But even the most optimistic witch or wizard knows that no peace can last forever. The January term is just beginning at Hogwarts. The Tetrawizard Tournament has brought new visitors to the school's hallowed halls, as students from Durmstrang, Beauxbatons, and the Salem Witches' Institute of Magic compete against Hogwarts' finest. But behind the jostling for position and the love matches that know no international bounds, there are whispers that the healthy competition is not quite as innocent as it seems. In the greater magical world, strange games are afoot. Regulars in Knockturn Alley whisper about an underground fighting ring that pits vicious werewolves against innocent Muggles in a shadowy competition. Meanwhile, as the new Minister of Magic struggles to find an answer to the increasing demands of the Gringotts goblins, she begins to use questionable magic in an effort to protect her recent rise to power. Elsewhere, there are hints of even darker shadows. There has never been a better time to whisper the old saying, Let there be no evil here.
