STEP INTO THE TELEPHONE BOX, DIAL "6-4-2-2-4..."

  It takes more than winning a war to get to, "All was well." In 2005, the Wizarding World is facing challenges it never expected. Recent advances in muggle technology threaten to put an end to the Statute of Secrecy and the fragile peace magical society has finally achieved.

  One mysterious new group aims to put an end to the Statute by any means necessary. They've drawn up a list of enemies, posted it for all to see and, one by one, terrible things are happening to the people whose names appeared on it.

It's 1981. Voldemort is on the rise. Death Eaters roam free. Hundreds have died or disappeared. As each day passes, the resistance grows weaker. Voldemort seems to be invincible and all hope seems lost, that is until a Prophecy is made; a child with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies to those who have thrice defied him and with a power that the Dark Lord will not understand. This child will bring an end to Voldemort's reign. And so the Dark Lord set out to kill this child before he could grow into a threat.

We all know the story, little Harry Potter is that child, his parent's die to protect him, the Dark Lord falls, Sirius Black is sent to prison, The Longbottoms are tortured to insanity, dozens more die, and the survivors are left broken.

But let's not get further into that, because we all know that story. Because, what if the story had a different outcome? What if you had a chance to re-write canon? Decide who lives? Who dies? Who wins the war?

What if you could re-write history?

Here is your chance!

Crescendo is an AU Marauders Era RPG taking place in 1981, when the war is in full swing. Through your actions, the story will slowly unravel into something new and exciting, or still have the same outcome. The ending is unknown, but the journey to discovering it will be a good one.

Imagine if Peter Pettigrew hadn't betrayed the Potters. The Order was already on the brink of defeat, a new death reported every day. What would happen if Voldemort remained unchecked, unable to find the one he claims as his rival? The Order lies in shambles, most of its members dead or in hiding. And slowly, Voldemort's vision of a perfect society began to take form ... Muggleborns were expelled from Hogwarts, as well as 'impure' halfbloods with too much Muggle blood. The Ministry was taken over, piece by piece, and while Dumbledore held onto Hogwarts with his fingertips, even that has been stripped and remade ...

The journals were created as a means of furthering propaganda and indoctrination, mandatory for all students. Adults too, use the journals to communicate. While some have made their way into the hands of surviving Order members, those cast out of society do not have access and thus cannot communicate with the rest of the world.

Ever wanted to know what it's like to work in the Magical Law Enforcement field? Well, now is your chance to find out! Shadow an Auror while they go about their day to day responsibilities. Of course, your safety is of the utmost importance so it's not very likely that you'll get to do anything exciting. You'll spend most of your time patrolling the mean streets of Wizarding London and going on donut runs with Alastor Gumboil, whose recent demotion means he's saddled with you. Job highlights include: obliviating random donut vendors and a complimentary "Junior Auror" badge that might get you laid at parties.

It was a prophecy that sealed the fate of two families.

November of 1984, in a stroke of luck for both his followers and him, Petunia was careless with Harry and Bellatrix Lestrange kidnapped him. The ceremony scared Harry who then was merely four years old. Voldemort with the blood of his last victims now running through his veins was saved from the hollow shell he became, and given his full power back.

The take over from there was swift and those that stood in his way were also killed. Many loyal to the Ministry or to the Order were slaughtered merely for being associated with them but not being members. Lord Voldemort spared no one in his movement for power. In August of 1989 Voldemort declared victory in the Ministry for Magic and in front of all those present, killed four muggle born employees along with the Minister as proof of his dominance.

What of young Harry? Harry was kept by Bellatrix Lestrange, renamed and ‘reborn’ into a new lifestyle. The prophecy with Voldemort’s tampering and Bellatrix’s manipulation should have been avoided. But unknown to Voldemort the family he chose to over look, the family he never once thought to even consider was the family he should have feared all along. But with the world now under Voldemort’s control and Harry Potter, the ‘boy who lived’ now the child of a woman devoted to the dark lord’s plans, can Neville discover the truth and save both Harry and himself, or will the prophecy be destroyed along with the wizarding world?

Everything will change.

They had been granted an opportunity to put right everything that had gone wrong. Can Harry save his parents? Can Draco fix it so he is never asked to kill Dumbledore? Can Peter escape the lure of the Death Eaters? Can Severus keep Lily safe? Or could they possibly make everything worse?

Dark time-travel game Chronic Ressurection has had a recent influx of good guys, particularly in trio era, and we are in dire need of some bad, evil, shady, dodgy, immoral, amoral, bitchy, mean, vindictive, violent, or ambiguous types to bring the balance back to the dark side. Death Eaters, Slytherins, or just unsavoury characters are all welcomed and loved. We're an awesome game and we are absolutely not going to die - we're stubborn as can be, you see, and the current mods met on the game and got married, so have rather an attachment to the old place. We're set in 1980 and 2001 exploring the AU that arises following the inadvertent time-travel of four key individuals from 2001. 1980 is just a little AU, whilst 2001 is very AU because Harry got distracted by time travel and Voldemort won. The players are all friendly and there are no cliques. There's a plot post every week, but interpersonal plots are also highly encouraged. We have the easiest application process in the world and the most flexible activity requirements ever. We love IC drama and angst and dark nastiness, because it's fun.
