Welcome to Silent Night
June 2006 - catastrophe strikes. The world's been quiet for so long - Voldemort is gone and gone for good. Life was moving on, people settling down and having families. Then one day - a dozen people fall ill. A week later over three hundred are sick and the first dozen are dying. Six months later a large chunk of both wizarding and muggle populations are dead, the few that survive in London and Scotland are banding together.

A healer discovers the cure - unicorn blood, basilisk venom and some other mundane items - but she can't bring herself to kill any more unicorns than necessary. Soon after she creates the antidote, she kills herself in shame and the Ministry, the surviving members anyways, ban the slaughter of the unicorn. Unicorns - who can bring themselves to kill one? Especially now that the Ministry has banned it. Not even the coldest hearted Death Eater could take the life of such an innocent creature.

People are asked to gather at Hogwarts and in Hogsmeade where wards are set up to protect people from the Virus. People don't like it, but the few who try to leave - fall ill and with only a tiny store of antidote left - they die. The threat is real. The Virus is outside the gates of the Town and people are asked to find a mate, and try to salvage life. Are there other surivors somewhere in the vast world, or are the 46 left it? Is there a permanent cure for this virus or do you have to kill a Unicorn to survive? Or will the children of the surivors be born with immunity? Only time will tell - and now it's in your hands.

Welcome to Nocte Silenti - we enter the world in present day, 2007. The marriage orders have been sent out and enforced. There is a murderer on the loose and Dolores Umbridge has taken over as Minister of Magic. Dementors are surrounding Hogwarts and Hogsmeade to keep everyone in and keep anything that may have survived the virus out. You character is quarantined until the time comes where you start game play. That is the day they are made aware of everything that's happened to them and what has happened to their world.

The Crescent City Institute of Magic has a long history of educating the best and brightest Witches and Wizards in the United States. Located on the grounds of an old plantation near New Orleans, CCI has a culture shaped both by its students and faculty, as well as by the close proximity of New Orleans itself.

CCI has been through changes in recent years. Hurricane Katrina hit the school hard, as it did all of the region. Many upperclassmen will remember the previous headmaster’s tragic death during the storm as he tried to help evacuate the school.

As the school year continues, more changes are in store. Adversaries old and new are drawn to New Orleans like moths to a flame, and strange…things…have been sighted in the area. One thing is for certain: this year, petty high school drama will be the least of anyone’s concerns…

Harry Potter has just received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He’s excited to get away from the Dursleys at last, and learn spells and hexes, play Quidditch, and make new friends.

The year is 1998, and Harry is 18 years old. Hogwarts is a fully accredited and extremely exclusive University.

This change in timeline has had a ripple effect on the reality of the wizarding world. It’s up to you to explain how that had affected your character. Was Azkaban Prison found to be inhumane, resulting in certain people enjoying an early release? Is Sirius Black teaching Flying classes? Is Bellatrix Lestrange teaching Herbology? Is Oliver Wood doing a work-study job in the library? Did Molly Weasley decide to earn some extra cash tending bar in Hogsmeade?

Maybe.
