The Durmstrang Institute was created for the magical instruction of Eastern European wizards. Once upon a time, it accepted all promising students who had magical aptitude, but now, any time that Muggleborns and halfbloods were ever accepted is a distant memory, in favor of rigid social classes and tradition. Students are ingrained with a sense of superiority or inferiority [one that often starts at home], a respect for tradition and appropriate social behavior, and most importantly a strong desire to succeed and to be the best. Students that graduate from Durmstrang are the most talented, the strongest, the brightest, and the best. The only question is...are you strong enough to survive until graduation?  WHO WILL YOU VOTE FOR? A 2008 Harry Potter Role Play Game The Second Wizarding War is over. The Order of the Phoenix won, and the United Kingdom is finally at peace – or at least it was. Then came the announcement of Minister Kingsley Shacklebolt’s retirement, and all political hell broke loose. With peace finally upon the Wizarding World, the question on everyone’s mind is who will be elected to take his place. Most assume it will be the Boy Who Lived, but when Harry Potter refuses to become a candidate, that leaves the field wide open. Multiple candidates are chosen, one from each Ministry Department. Each promise peace and prosperity, but most have their own agenda. Worse, as the election heats up, a war between Departments is stirring as each fights for dominance. It’s Auror against Unspeakable, International Magical Cooperation against Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, even the Department of Regulation of Magical Creatures against the Department of Transportation. At first it’s regarded as friendly rivalry, but when candidates start to turn up dead, it turns into an all-out war. Who will survive the election – and more importantly, who will win? And after it’s all over…then what? 1975. A year in which Farrah Fawcett haircuts cultivated Muggles and bellbottoms were worn by the masses. While some of these styles migrated to the teenagers of Hogwarts, there was a whole new trend growing amongst girls. A book brought on by Olive Hornby-esque girls to 'burn' others and write their innermost thoughts of all was the newest rave, and it carried itself. After seven years, the girls graduated and passed it on to the next house. This Burn Book found itself in the hands of very stuck up Ravenclaws, and with it they had the power to make their dreams come true, as one scorned 'nerd' of the bunch found the book and cursed it. Whatever you write in it is true. No matter what the lie, no matter what the wish, it became the truth. She had a perfect plan, and those stuck up Ravenclaw girls were torn apart, as their gossiping and two-faced ways ruined one anothers' lives, and happily enough, wanting rid of their old ways but not knowing a thing about the charm, they graduated and passed it on, where it still circulates today, no one knowing the true power. And now, it's Slytherin's turn. |
