Thirty-three years of peace after the defeat of Voldemort and the end of his reign of terror and it is coming to a close. The purebloods can feel a change coming in the air, like a slow plague ready to take over. They are beginning to grow restless, the fear of being persecuted fading as time continues. They taunt and fight with the muggles, but welcome those with magic with open arms, talking to them, taking them under their wing, teaching them.

People have begun to disappear and new laws made in the Ministry have made people restless. A small group has begun to attack in short bursts and then disappear for sometime. A new mark has appeared burned into shops and trees, a skull with a crown of thorns. People are beginning to fight and mistrust each other, the last war now nothing but a history lesson for the children.

A war is brewing and there is no way to stop it. A new leader has risen from the ashes of Voldemort’s demise and the only question is are you going to the low ground, or the high ground?

Peace? In our labyrinthine wizarding world? Well, honestly, I didn't think it was possible. It seemed rather preposterous, even after his sensational defeat. Oh, I can barely remember what it felt like when we received the news. We heard it on our wireless right before we sat down for supper. He was gone, his enthusiasts were gone, but tragically: so were a lot of the people we knew. ( ... )

It is the year 2022. Another generation is at Hogwarts, and their time there has been considerably less dramatic than Harry's. However, things aren't as perfect as they first appear.
