Yeah, for what good it did. I'm still...rather supremely confused and absolutely no one is surprised about that...but I appreciate it.

You'll be confused for a while. Then you'll start hating the train and that'll dry the confusion right up. Give it a couple of days to sink in.

Nothing so mundane. Mostly stuff from the battle. I was there, I fought in it, I heard Harry's epic speech of epicness, I heard about the snake slaying. I had friends closer to your year, and they wrote when they could during that last year, so I heard things then, too.

Right this second? Watching Ray read a book while he pretends he doesn't notice I'm watching him, and I pretend I don't know he knows.

Unless you meant something more general? At home, I'm still being a hitwitch, as far as I know. On the train ... not much. I back up Lily when she's incapacitated, I play greeter to the newcomers, mostly. I'm sort of not so much on that because of the whole ... memory loss thing, but usually I'm on the ball.

	I'd like to say you're probably safe because you're new, but ... it doesn't really work that way. You could wake up tomorrow and wonder where you are and how you got on this train and why there's a record of you posting in the network because you just got here. It passes. Nothing has lasted longer than a couple of weeks. You just ... bitch about it while it's going on. Last month, I heard it swiped our magic. I can only imagine what kind of state I was in then.

And you'd notice. It's kind of like having a walled off room. You have the memories before it, and you make new memories after it, but the ones in that blank spot just don't exist. You know there's stuff there because people told you, but ... you don't actually remember it all.

In some ways. Mostly, yeah. I could be like Lily and think I'm sixteen.

No one knows. This train does things that really can't be explained. It's a fan of hallucinations. Or was; maybe it's gotten over that. But it took people's mutations and even like ... skills.

No. He is a Muggle, but he's from a very different sort of reality. Which is difficult to explain this late at night, but I'll chat you up all about it some time when you've settled in.

	It has occasional perks, but for the most part, yeah. The train's a right bastard. No one knows how or why. All we've heard is that the train's gone runaway, they're supposedly working on a rescue, but the train is outsmarting them at every turn. Probably. Oh, that's the bitch of it. We used to be able to. Then after the last stop, we can't anymore. So we could get off the train, into whatever reality it was passing through. Now it's like it has a barrier around it. You can't even do it from the open air car. I mean, we could never get home that way, but we used to be able to at least ... you know. Escape the sardine can.

	Oh yeah. Everything else works fine. Oh, and if you break the train, or some part inherent to the train (like your phone), it fixes itself every night. Most charms tend to stick -- I did a permanent sticking charm to put something on one of the touring car doors, and it's still there -- but if you accidentally (or deliberately) break something, it'll fix.
