Oh, blast.

This isn't the ministry, is it?

Well...at least I'm not splinched.

And here I thought I could actually do magic now...

It took our magic?? How can it even do that? There's not even a spell or a curse that can do that, is there? That's something that's just a part of us!

That sounds...pretty terrible. I hope it's over for you soon.

Good, so we're all square on that. Is he a wizard?

No one knows. This train does things that really can't be explained. It's a fan of hallucinations. Or was; maybe it's gotten over that. But it took people's mutations and even like ... skills.

You should have heard Hermi

It will be. If I'm lucky, I've maybe got three days left. If I'm not ... well, I've got ... a couple weeks left.

No. He is a Muggle, but he's from a very different sort of reality. Which is difficult to explain this late at night, but I'll chat you up all about it some time when you've settled in.

Hallucinations? Ugh. Doesn't seem like a very nice place, really? And nobody knows how...or why? Not even any ideas?

Yeah, sounds good to me. We should all get together at some point, I think, all of us who know each other, anyway.

It has occasional perks, but for the most part, yeah. The train's a right bastard. No one knows how or why. All we've heard is that the train's gone runaway, they're supposedly working on a rescue, but the train is outsmarting them at every turn.

Probably. Not like I have much else to do any given day =D

And let me guess...we can't just disapparate either, can we?

Great. It'll be nice to see all of you again.

Oh, that's the bitch of it. We used to be able to. Then after the last stop, we can't anymore. So we could get off the train, into whatever reality it was passing through. Now it's like it has a barrier around it. You can't even do it from the open air car. I mean, we could never get home that way, but we used to be able to at least ... you know. Escape the sardine can.

Ah, well. I probably would have ended up splinching myself somehow anyway.

We can still use other magic here, though, right?

Oh yeah. Everything else works fine. Oh, and if you break the train, or some part inherent to the train (like your phone), it fixes itself every night. Most charms tend to stick -- I did a permanent sticking charm to put something on one of the touring car doors, and it's still there -- but if you accidentally (or deliberately) break something, it'll fix.

Well, that's comforting anyway. It didn't leave us completely helpless.

And the fixing thing - that's absolutely brilliant.

No way. If it took our magic to start with, what would it steal to fuck with us?

It's useful, when people trash rooms in a rage at the train.

Ah, good point. Good point.

Or if you're, you know, me.

Or that =D

You can't be any worse than some of the others on board, really.

I'm better than I was, sure. But of those you told me about? Yeah, pretty sure I'm not. I mean, Gran's not worried I'm a squib anymore, but I'm not Harry Potter, either.

No one's Harry Potter. ;)

Wonder if he's going to show up now

I don't envy him what he's been through, though.
