You know, I really like this fic, but I often feel that at the end, Daniel's behavior is a little bit off.  But that's just me, and it obviously doesn't stop me from reading it all the time, so I'm probably being a bit nit-picky, here.  After all, Daniel's been through a hell of a lot in the last two days, how the hell would I know how he'd act?  Anyway, it's definitely worth reading...more than once.

Notes:  I told myself I wouldn't rec two fic by the same author in a row, and the last NCIS fic I rec'd?  By Rebecca.  But you know, I just can't help myself.  I really like her fic.  She's good at capturing something essential in the way the characters react to each other, their situation, just the way they are who they are.  And her fic are sizzling hot.  I mean sometimes - they singe me. 

These two fit so well together.  The first is just a quick writing challenge: 60-Second Porn.  Most of the challenges just use the name, but give you more like 4 or 5 minutes...it's just the idea of quick, off the cuff writing.  I don't know about her particular challenge, just that the prompt was Sight.  And wow.  She covered it brilliantly.  And then, the next day, inspired by an image from Sight, she wrote Watch and Learn.  Uh, did I mention the sizzling?  'Cause, yeah,  that's what's happening in this fic.  (Is it hot in here, or is it just me?)

Notes: When I saw Condemned, I was just thrilled with that little exchange between Ronon and John, when Ronon forced John into giving him an order: "Is that an order?"  "Does it need to be?"  "Yes!"  I was already a fan, I'd liked Ronon's character since Runner, his first episode.  But  John/Ronon became my OTP at that moment.  As a matter of fact, I think I heard fangirls  squeeing about that scene all over LJ that next week.  And I was in perfect agreement. 

Ronon, bound and wearing a collar, and only responding to an agressive, male voice ordering him to behave?  Oh, yes.  I loved that.  And almost immediately after the episode, Titti wrote this.  There were others written on the same subject, and if I haven't I may well rec some of them at some point, but this was the first, and so far?  Still my favorite.  Titti has a nice grip on the interplay between Dom and sub.  She pays attention, and uses it well.  And this fic?  It makes me smile, every time I read it.

Notes: My favorite fantasy novels for the last decade or so have been by Steven Brust, and of this whole Universe he's created, by far my favorite novels have been the ones with Vlad Taltos as the lead character.  Vlad is a fascinating character...a "business man" whose "business" includes untaxed gambling houses and brothels, and the protection racket. 

He also happens to be an extremely deadly assassin, an excellent cook, a witch in a country full of sorcerers with an entirely different kind of power, and "human" in a world of Dragaerans - creatures that stand several feet taller than he does, and live thousands of years longer than he will.  Yet he stands out, makes a name for himself in a totally foreign land, and makes powerful allies and formidable enemies in deadly games of politics and power. 

My first interest in slashing this series was in bringing together Vlad and Morrolan (his friend, and one of the youngest and most powerful of the Dragonlords).  They have a lot in common, but at the same time, are totally, widely different in many, many ways.  I always thought they belonged together.  Way before I ever heard of slash.  But then I learned all about fandom, and eventually even found some people who also want to write in this fandom.  This fic makes me happy.  It was the first one I found, and I think Truth handles Vlad and his trusty Jhereg familiar Loiosh, very well.   Good fic.  Worth reading.

Notes: This is an incredible story.  Beautifully written, incredibly detailed and the characters are so well drawn.  Jack is the ex-BlackOps Colonel that I love to read about.  Professional, hard-edged, strong but capable of caring and love - she's written him just the way I like him.  The way he and Daniel communicate with just a touch, a look, a lift of the eyebrow, fingers on a racing pulse, and everything is clear to them.  But not just beautiful - damn is it hot, too!  

If you haven't read this, you really should.  And don't be scared off by the fact that she says it's the beginning of a longer fic.  It's perfectly complete as is.  And once you've read it, you'll be glad she has more in mind.  You want to see more of these two.  You miss them when they're gone.  Sign of a good fic, in my book. 

The excerpt  bellow gives us a glimpse of  yet another side of Komos, her humor, and her excellent ear, capturing everyone's voices just as clearly as she does Jack's and Daniel's.  In the scene before this one, Jack has been taking out his anger on the innocent gym equipment, since the men who tortured Daniel are dead, and beyond his reach.  Then Teal'c shows up and helps him get rid of his aggressions.

Notes: A straight-forward Cliche fic, and I love a good Aliens Made Me Do It fic, I think they're one of my favorites.  There's not much more to say about this one, except that it's hot as hell, but way too short!  I love shalott's fic.  She's a very talented writer.

Jack and Daniel are being forced to have sex, in order to save Teal'c's life.  They flip a coin to see who bottoms, and Jack loses.  Daniel takes over.

Notes: In this version, Keller never got arrested.  Beecher and Schillinger continue trying to kill each other, and screwing up each other's lives, but eventually, Beecher gets paroled.  He finds it difficult dealing with life on the outside.  He finds his own unique ways to deal with the pressures of the Real World.  I love this Alternate Universe.  I think this is my favorite interpretation of Toby outside of canon.  He's real, raw, and full of pain, and looking for some way to ease it.  It just seems to work for me.

It is a WIP.  I don't like to rec WIPs, but I just love the first chapters of this so much.  I can just read them over and over, and I have, even before I knew she was still writing it, (although at a rather slow pace.)  I don't care.  I'll take what I can get.

Notes: Napoleon has a nice arrangement with his partner.   He's comfortable with the level of commitment, or lack thereof, but at the same time, he wants more from Illya.  But Illya is not happy with things the way they are, and he sends Napoleon packing, to find his "comfort" elsewhere.  But is that really what Napoleon wants? 

Poor Napoleon...he just doesn't know what he wants.  It's a simple story, straight-forward, and I find myself coming back to it time and again.  It's short enough to almost call it Smut.  But there's a lot of emotion and a rather large chunk of self-discovery going on here in this small fic, so it's not at all what it first seems.

Notes: The Palm of God's Hand takes a closer look at the somewhat intimate relationship that Beecher and O'Reily seemed to share during the first Season of the show.  Always touching each other, getting high, wrapped around each other, enjoying their time together.  Part II deals with the time directly before and during the riot at the end of Season One, and the way that impacted their relationship after the riot. 

Having spent close up and personal time with my betas, I kind of wish I could  have shared them with Nicole - she tends to switch tenses, and wander a bit on occasion, but it doesn't hurt my enjoyment of her fic.  You can feel the way Beecher and O'Reily enjoy themselves together, she captures their fun and exuberance, slipping in and out of intimacy easily with the aid of the drugs - and always in character.  It just feels right.
