I'm bored. Bored, bored, bored, bored. I mean, it hasn't even been a year. One measley, teeny-tiny, once-around-the-sun, 365-days-of-nothing year, and yet it's going on for aaages.

Bored. There's not even anywhere left to go. You know itchy feet? I have them. No radiation or anything and my feet are itchy. Not my ears. Ears always itch because people talk a lot. Especially about me. But feet. That's new.

I could always do something to entertain you.

I wondered how long it would take you to volunteer.

Not so much volunteer as threaten. He really should know better than to say he's bored. People always end up dead when he's bored. Never ends well for anyone.

Yes, of course, but if I run about saying you're making threats you're liable to wind up with several others sticking their noses in where it doesn't belong. Which I really could care less about but it's liable to make him rather cross and I personally don't feel like listening to him bemoan that fact.

I'm not sure it would be worth the bother, anyway. I mean, yes, it would be amusing. But they've barely cleaned up the last mess, and if I go making another, this place is really going to be in a sorry state.

Well, yes. I would imagine the city would be in quite a sorry state in that end. Of course, there is an entire planet beyond the city at your disposal now. But I'm sure you've already considered as much.

I have had the thought. I'm sure I could create a minor distraction in order to attract his attention given the right conditions and equipment.

Well, I've quite likely just sent him off to be chased by overly large, flesh-eating worms. Which gives you an hour or so, I'd say, to come up with something before he's back and complaining once more.

I suppose I do work well under pressure.

I'm sure you have plenty of ideas. How many don't involve anyone mass panic?

Depends on who you're talking about panicking.

I'm don't really want anyone to panic, to be honest. You know what it gets like.

Everyone gets all jumpy. There's all that screaming and running. It's amusing at first and then it gets tedious.

Exactly. I mean, I like the running bits, usually. But the screaming makes my ears ring.

This is a very long year, isn't it? Are they normally this slow and I just didn't notice?

They're all this slow. They've always been this slow. They always will be this slow. I've experienced enough of them linearly to know.
