You have to be kidding me. It's one thing to not be able to see my dad, or Peter, or Molly. It's another entirely not to be able to see my children.

[Loki]
Right, so, do you think maybe you could come by to keep an eye on the kids for a little bit until we can figure something else out? Neither Dean or I can see them and, while I'm pretty sure they won't take too much advantage of the situation, I still don't really want them on their own.

It's not Lucifer, is it? I thought he was already in one of your universes. And I assume it's not my dad.

[Claire]
Which one? Does he drink?

No, it's not Lucifer. He's from Dean's reality. And it isn't your dad. I don't really know him.

It's Loki.

[Tony]
Does it matter? They're all "fine" if you ask them. But, specifically, I was speaking of the Eleventh. He's the one I'm closest with. And no. He definitely doesn't drink.

Seriously? I thought he couldn't be around children. Violates the terms of his intergalactic parole. Like crossing the threshold of a church.

[Claire]
Well, he's the Doctor, he requires companions. Everyone knows I don't play well with others.
Damn. So this is going to be the worst undisclosed period of time in the history of the universe.

My kids happen to adore him. Not to mention, they listen to him. That's not even a claim I can make. And seriously. Has it ever occurred to any of you that most of Loki's issues could be dealt with by a simple act of acceptance despite the fact that he's not actually Asgardian?

[Tony]
Except the other Avengers, you mean. And Pepper. Because you seem to play pretty well with all of them. Just saying.

Yeah, I really don't give a shit where he's from. I didn't know what ASGARD was until Thor came around, so any issues I may have with him are not related to his personal history. OUR personal history, sure. His, not so much.

[Claire]
Well, we've learned to put up with each other better than we put up with most. Clint just sticks around for the free stuff.

Considering you're talking to a girl who totally forgave a man who sawed off the top of her head, poked around in her brain, and murdered both of her bio-parents... yeah. Safe to say, you're probably barking up the wrong tree if you expect me to judge Loki based on anything he's done before he came to this city.

[Tony]
You do know I'm not buying any of that, right? They're your friends, and no amount of you claiming that you can manage just fine on your own is going to change that, Tony.

Also, have I mentioned I really wish I could get drunk right now? Because, seriously. Wishing that so freaking much.

...yeah, i think at that point, forgiveness is a character flaw. Or a lack of survival instinct. As someone who CAN die, and nearly did several times, I can't afford to be quite that accepting.

[Claire]
I can manage fine on my own. I just usually prefer not to, because drinking alone is weird.

You can't get drunk? Because you're indestructible, or because you're responsible? I'll only accept one of those excuses as legitimate.

You're probably right. It probably is a character flaw of mine. But, as far as I'm concerned, it's a good one to have.

[Tony]
Okay. We'll go with that.

And I can't get drunk because of the indestructible thing, definitely. My body counteracts the alcohol before it can do anything. Like Steve and Logan, basically.
