[ooc: Takes place right after some arguing in Al's post. Ed's meeting Al at the shelter, so anyone can feel free to bump into him on his way there or when he first gets there. The thread with Al is closed, but if you want a character to pop in on the two of them together please let me know OOC! And uh, he'll have his communicator on so any contact there will also be responded to. Ed's default communicator mode is video unless stated otherwise.]

[Ed would have made his way to the shelter easily enough if it hadn't been for the lizards prowling the streets in packs. For the most part he'd stuck with trying to dodge them, because he didn't want to have to explain to his brother why 'staying safe' had been such a difficult task. However it didn't take long for him to come face to face with one of the creatures, and backing away ceased to be an option when the thing's friends made their presence known as well.

And he had been doing so good at avoiding them, up until this point. Taking on a defensive stance and trying not to turn his back on a pesky lizard would have been easy enough to do if they weren't already closing in on all sides - so he did the first thing he could think of. Jumping up before they got a chance to lunge and kicking one hard in the face with his left leg...

Once he reaches the shelter, Ed stays by the door to watch for Al despite being told to remain inside for his own safety. He's not going to sit comfortably inside while his brother was still at risk. His sleeve is torn and his clothes are stained with blood, but he seems clear of any obvious injuries - looking more worn out than anything.

The first thing he does when he arrives is check the communicator, frowning.]

Fletcher? Where are you and your brother staying?

Xellos
[Good morning Marina! Have a smiley Xellos!]

What a lovely day, isn't it? I just had to bring my new friends out to play~ [he leans close and wags a finger, winking] Be sure to let them know how much you enjoy their performance! They're terribly shy.

Slightly squickable content, perhaps. )

Bravo, bravo! That calls for an encore, I think...

The 69th Day
28 June 2010 at 08:05 pm
Marina Asylum Denizens
Good morning inmates. It is the 69th day of the third generation.

This system notes that many inmates show somewhat decreased lifesigns, and urges them to proceed to the hospital to tend to the injuries taken during the late-night festivities and fireworks. It seems it was a mistake to include the traditional beverages yesterday. Please exercise more caution when traveling at night, in the future.

To alert those who expressed interest, and those unaware, an address system will be set in place today by remote units, so the initial stages of the postal system requested by inmate Peregrine Mendicant is now underway. Barring any interference with this process, it will not be long before mail will be able to circulate the facility.

Neil Dylandy / Lockon Stratos (I)
[ Action | Open ]

Tch. [He had been looking around the firing range for some time now, and just confirmed his suspicions. Not that he expected there to be weapons there -- even locked up and guarded by sentinels or something -- but there wasn't even the smell of gunpowder hanging in the air that he was used to. With a bit of a smirk, said to the empty room.] Figures. Doesn't seem that anyone even uses this place that much.

[ Action | Closed ]

[Lockon didn't know what to tell Sakura. He had only met Ashton once, and didn't really know him all that well. Lacus seemed to have the better handle on the situation, on the whole, so he was fine with just cleaning the kitchen while the girls sat in the dining room in Lacus' new home.

But he couldn't help but overhear, just a little...]

[He really, really doesn't feel like getting up this morning. As per usual, Kaoru misses the morning announcements. At least he isn't on the floor this time. Pushing the two beds together really helped avoid that. But Hikaru is still asleep. Kaoru observes him for a moment. It's time to put his plan into action. Kaoru just hopes this one doesn't mess up like the last time he attempted this. Well it's either now or never and Kaoru prefers now. If Hikaru hates him for this, then so be it. Kaoru is prepared for it. He always has been. This is for the both of them, really, but mostly for Hikaru.

So he starts shaking Hikaru by the shoulder a bit.]

Hikaru. It's time to get up.

[Staying with Road and Tyki was all well and good, but Naoya needs alone time. He heads towards the shelter to get to dining hall. He's too tired to make his own food.]

[He still looks pretty beaten up, and exhausted. He didn't sleep well at all.]

[[ooc; Anyone is free to encounter him either on the way to the shelter or in the dining hall. Just specify which you'd prefer! o/ ]]

Gilbert G.P. Guilford
[He wasn't the radio announcer type, so Guilford was speaking with a little more authority than one might expect, and he tried not to put too much of the requisite presence into it. Still, he wished to be clear, for Euphie's sake.

He was clasping his hands behind his back, and stood next to a terminal inside the Education Center. On the screen was a blue and aqua logo, and what looked to be paragraphs of text (but it would be hard to read at the distance the camera was at).]

Good morning, Marina. I trust everyone has recovered from the previous night's... festivities. [There were doubts as to whether or not Acumen's assessment was at all accurate, but he wasn't about to bring that up. This broadcast had its own purpose.]

I am broadcasting to you this morning to announce that preparations for the Marina Academy are nearly complete. Euphemia has prepared some literature for the currently available courses, which are freely available in print -- [Pulling his hands forward, he holds up a very professional-looking booklet with the same marking as on the computer next to him, which he sets the item on top of.] -- as well as on the computers within the Education Facility, itself.

[It was strange to add this point, but even so:] Once the infrastructure is complete, copies can also be requested via mail.

[A brief pause while he adjusts his glasses.] There are some gaps in the curriculum, due to lack of volunteers or because some have gone... home.

These should best be filled quickly if any semblance of balance is to be maintained. Teachers would be useful for the following courses: [Which he reads off of a notepad he had in his other hand.] General science, additional languages -- I would like to note that there seem to be a number of inmates here that speak Japanese, and thus it would facilitate communication without depending on the communicators [Which some people would be all over.] , as well as some arts, and ethics.

If anyone is interested and capable please contact myself or Lady Euphemia and we can discuss arrangements. Anyone attending is welcome to begin registering for the classes that are posted, which can be done at the same computers that display the catalogs, or on sign-up sheets posted in the Shelter. Teachers, please begin preparing your curriculum, as well.

((OOC: Haunt put up a relevant post for muns here!))

C.C.
[ She heard Nunnally speaking to Acumen, and decided now was as good a time as any. Dressed and ready for the day -- something she's usually not at this hour -- she moves from her room to the one shared by Nunnally and Euphemia.

Thankfully, she doesn't see any trace of Akagi in the house, and hopefully Suzaku managed to get some rest. She knocks on the girls' door, with Beagle sitting patiently at her feet. ]

Bookman Junior (Lavi)
[ Up early, surprisingly, given last night and the fact he'd spent most of it awake -- thanks Allen -- and puttering in the shelter kitchen, making some eggs in a basket, albeit somewhat awkwardly. Maybe he'll go for a run today. Or antagonize Yu enough so he'll spar. Fun and productive, hey.

He's whistling under his breath as he cuts holes in the bread. Not the most sophisticated meal, but if it tastes good, who cares? It's not porridge. Gramps makes better gruel, anyway. ]
