[Someone with a weakness to status effects is super effected by this little experiment. As such, he's actually left his communicator back in his apartment and is sitting out at the beach, hoping to avoid people.

He's attempting to build a sand castle, but it isn't working so well for him.

He won't really be able to converse with you unless you speak English (or Britannian?)]

[Rei has a purpose! And full of this purpose, she heads straight for the computer labs, ready to start searching for traces of Sentience. Never mind that it's the one who locked her up here on a misunderstanding about the nature of Instrumentality - she's got someone to follow now, and everything seems much clearer to her.

Unfortunately, her search doesn't last long - she knows her way around a computer, but not behind one, as it were - she's got no idea about code and such. She's also having quite a bit of trouble typing with the use of only one arm. So after a few futile attempts to find what Lain told her to look for, she's back at square one, looking confused and a little disheartened.]

I do not understand! Why must these things be so complicated?

...

Pardon me, I did not mean to say that out loud to everyone.
[Action | WIDE WIDE OPEN] It's Karaoke Party Night!

[It was seven on the dot, and the club looked a little bit different tonight, a pair of microphones and a large television monitor set up on stage. The club's bar had put out a few platters of finger friendly munchables.

Demyx had arranged himself in the DJ booth, kicking back at the soundboard with a fruity frosted drink (complete with little umbrella) that one of the localized bots were serving up.

He kept the door open, propped up with a stool and a small table bearing a thick binder full of song options...and a sign up list.

Up for a sing-along night, Marina? Then step right up, and take center stage. If your act is totally ridiculous, and you're completely talentless? All the better.]

[OOC: Start a thread with your act, the wilder 80's tune or showstopper, the more entertaining! Cheers, boos, mortification for your friends and other catcalls from the just-watching peanut gallery go below! Feel free to start other mingling threads too.]

[Miranda has been thinking. Right now she's out near the beach, sitting in the sand. She was happy to know that Lavi has returned, but it also makes her feel guilty to think that. You're not supposed to be happy that your friend is trapped in a prison.

But she's also been thinking about the school. And about when she went to school as a child.]

U-Umm...hmm...I-I know t-today is...stressful f-for some of us, b-but...m-maybe we can think about good things? Like...

U-Umm...Wh-What is one good memory you have? Of here...o-or home, i-if you'd prefer?

{OOC: Miranda has heard enough upset people today that she kind of wants to help people think about something happy.}

Everyone, especially people who arrived today, I need your attention!

[And now a quick intake of breath. This post is very difficult for her, but it's important.] You must not eat or use any of the contents of today's welcome baskets. They are potentially very dangerous. The cookies may contain pins and there could be other hazards.

If you have one, please let me know so it can be disposed of safely. If you have already eaten something and need any kind of help, please let me know so we can get you medical attention.

I'm... [Her voice trembles, and she continues much more softly.] I'm very sorry for this.

EDIT: (OOC: I should have mentioned that no baskets other than Lavi's were tampered with, so all the ones being recalled are perfectly safe.)

[There’s silence and then the sound of someone clearing their throat.]

Excuse me, can anyone tell me what our location is? I’m aware of the basics but now I need to know the specifics—such as where in the world we are and where I can find the Warden. I’m afraid my being here is a great mistake.

[The silence returns for a long pause but then the voice is heard again in almost a whisper.]

I hope Master is doing well.
