It's 2005 and the Information Age is in full swing. YouTube has just been created, muggles are carrying cell phones with cameras everywhere they go and news can travel across the globe in a split second. Amidst all this, the Wizarding World still hides behind the Statute of Secrecy, which is looking increasingly futile and outdated. One secretive new group - OSTENDO - aims to put an end to the Statute, by any means necessary. They've drawn up a list of enemies, posted it for all to see and one by one, terrible things are happening to the people whose names appeared on it. The targets span all classes and levels of blood, Death Eaters, Ministry workers, and citizens alike.

Still, in the midst of all this, there are people just trying to get by. To live and laugh and love with their friends and family. No period can be perfectly peaceful and one must make the most of what quiet time they have. Especially those who realize their 'quiet time' is rapidly coming to an end ...

The 8th Floor is a DH-compliant, post-war game that takes a look at the interplay between the magical and muggle worlds and the myriad of problems something like the Statute of Secrecy could cause. We meld plot, politics, and social aspects into an intense gaming experience.

It's the future!

And especially in the wizarding world, things are changing faster than ever. First it was global warming and rising sea levels, then it was magical technology and the rise of the maskers -- muggles who know about the wizarding world. Before anyone knew what was happening, secrecy was flopping toward oblivion like a fish snatched by an sharp-clawed eagle.

And it's all coming to a head here, on the Island of Apples. Created using a mix of magic and nanotechnology, it's the first of hundreds, even thousands of unfloodable artificial islands built to replace drowning coastal regions.

And the real estate is going fast. The island already contains towns, a resort, a container port, and a population that's growing and diversifying in all directions. Wizards and maskers and even muggles living and working side by side -- how long can that last?

We're still waiting to find out.


In the Silver Sea is a canon-compliant Harry Potter RPG set in the year 2035 (next-gen grown up). We welcome characters of all ages, nationalities, and magical statuses.

Hogwarts may be out for the summer, but there's no rest for the secretive. Will secret society connections help or hinder new graduates? Will the new initiates of the two rival societies be able to uphold traditions of camaraderie and fun, even in the face of the hostile deputy headmistress?

As for the rest of Hogwarts, can any secrets compare to the excitement and madness of ordinary wizarding life?
