The magical world has turned dark and cold with sadness and despair. Voldemort and his Death Eaters have taken control in every way imaginable. The Order of the Phoenix is small in numbers and heavy in heart. There isn’t a family that has been spared the loss of a loved one. Once the world’s hope for salvation, Harry Potter is now missing, presumed dead. The Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts and Azkaban are now in the hands of the Death Eaters. Albus Dumbledore is dead and the little hope left for victory fades with each fresh death of a witch or wizard. There is little reason to continue fighting and many who once supported the Order have now resigned themselves to a darker fate.

Purebloods who choose to support The Dark Lord want for nothing. Halfbloods are considered second class citizens, not given any real power or wealth. Muggleborns are forced into servitude or have fled the magical world, seeking refuge in Muggle England. Anyone who dares speak against The Dark Lord or join ranks with The Order is considered an Enemy of the Ministry and is imprisoned in Azkaban once caught.

Funerals and memorials take place in secret, the laughter and joy once found in magic is gone. A grey veil of mourning has been placed over the magical world. Is there any hope left?
