//Community //Rules //Avaliable Characters //Application//

The tentative start date is October 1st. Depending on number of applicants the game may start earlier

At any given moment, countless possibilities open before us. Every decision we make closes as many doors as it opens. But regardless of what paths we choose, and what paths we do not, Time flows onwards.

Just as a frayed cord has many strands, each person exists in different divergent Timestreams, all stemming from the Main Timestream of the temporal flow.

Outside of the Timestreams, there is the Nexus, where people arrive when they are plucked from the main thread of their lives at decisive points - days they die, start new jobs, etc., and there they remain as their lives continue in the Main Timestream. People are grouped their with those from similar times so people from different eras do not clash. For each group, the Nexus looks like a familiar location.

With only the knowledge of their lives up to that point, they meet friends and family, lovers or enemies, masters or servants - other souls who must adjust to life outside of Time. Sometimes, these meetings bring joy. Sometimes they bring sorrow. But always, they bring opportunities. How you use those opportunities is up to you.

'Trip the Rift' is a journal-based RP set in the Harry Potter fandom, restricted to those characters who were born between the years 1800 and 2050 AD.

Players have the freedom to pick the precise moment their characters arrive at the Nexus, which is patterned after a large city dating from the period. But with that choice comes a consequence. Each character will only know their history up to that point. Pick someone towards the end of his or her life, and that character will know much more about people, places, and events than a contemporary who arrives at a much younger age.

For example, if you chose to play Regulus Black and you had him arrive at the Nexus before he decided to betray Voldemort, he would be a loyal Death Eater. He wouldn't know anything about his actions with respect to the Horcrux, and he would be shocked to learn he had defied the Dark Lord.

Or, let's say you chose to play Hermione Granger, and you had her arrive at the Nexus several days after the birth of her daughter, Rose. She would not know that she had another child afterwards.

How will they react to learning about the deeds committed by their 'main Timestream' selves? Will they embrace family and friends they meet for the first time, or will they shy away from them, since they're effectively strangers? Will enemies still be enemies if only one of the parties knows what the others have done? The answers to those questions, and more, are up to you.

IN 1927

This was a time in the day where the old, pure-blooded magical folk had but one thing to do: Continue the line. Hoping to make sure that it would survive another generation or so. The only other thing going on is the socializing of the purebloods of the Wizarding World and Grindelwald making his appearance during his tyranny.

1927 concerns the life, scandals and social interaction of the purebloods society and wizards of the age.

During his escape from Hogwarts after the demise of Voldemort, Rodolphus Lestrange quite literally stumbled over a small gold ring with a cracked black stone. Recognising it as something he’d seen in the Dark Lord’s possession many years ago, he picked it up before fleeing through the Forbidden Forest. Some weeks later, after reuniting with his brother, he discovered what the ring was and a purpose was born in his mind. He would find a way to use the Resurrection Stone to bring back both his wife and Voldemort.

It took three years of research and experimentation, but finally Rodolphus felt ready to try to use the Resurrection stone for more than its intended purpose. On September 1st, 2001 Rodolphus and Rabastan went ahead with the plan. At first it didn't seem to have worked, but despite the perceived failure the act had a costly effect on Rodolphus. Magically drained, prematurely aged and furious at his failure, Rodolphus and his brother started planning again.

What they didn't know, until days later, was that the stone worked. It returned Voldemort in all his youthful glory to life. However, instead of reappearing where they wanted him to (the ballroom of Lestrange Manor), Voldemort returned to where he died: Hogwarts, whereupon he was promptly captured by the teachers and imprisoned by the Ministry.

What they also did not know was that the stone was to have a far greater effect than they expected. For it did not stop with Voldemort.

It's been a year since the Final Battle, and the Wizarding World is slowly rebuilding. During that time Kingsley Shacklebolt has stepped up as Minister and quickly put to rights most of what the Death Eater regime wronged.
Muggleborns are slowly filtering back into society, though fear of the same thing happening again is high.

Trials have been held and Death Eaters sentenced to Azkaban. While Azkaban is no longer guarded by Dementors, the prison is as cold and forbidding as ever. However, some Death Eaters have escaped and although they haven't made any overt moves since Shacklebolt and the Order came to power, neither has the overwhelming aura of fear abated much. Some Death Eaters escaped by turning in their associates; for others there was little evidence. Still others went on the run and are hiding from the Aurors and the Wizengamot.

There are whispers of an isolated group of Death Eaters still bent on seeing the rise of Purebloods and the annihilation of Muggles and Muggleborn alike, but no trace of this group has been seen. But their presence is felt, and it's only a matter of time before they strike.

But for Harry Potter and his friends, their lives are just beginning. Most of Harry's year chose to continue on for an 8th year at Hogwarts, under the Specialized NEWT Program. Having successfully completed that, they took their NEWTs in May of 1999, along with students in Ginny's year, and spent the summer (or longer) job hunting. With Auror and Healer Training to start in October, Quidditch to begin again after a year-long hiatus and new shops opening all the time in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley no one wants to think about a third war.

But it's coming, and this time the aftermath will be epic. Is the Wizarding World ready for a Third War? It's time to find out in The Aftermath.

Game starts Sept 15th
