"There was never a good war or a bad peace."

With the Wizarding World in the hands of a stable government at last, everyone has gone back to living their normal lives. Suddenly, headlines such as 'Man Steals Ice Cream Cone From Ice Cream Shop' and 'Another Hot Summer Soon To Come' are the most exciting news stories of the day. The only criminals about are those whose arms are not marked with a deathly insignia but are simply out to stir up an otherwise quiet world.

After the war, a small, independent organisation was formed in order to maintain the calm between Purebloods and Muggleborns. It was a peaceful organisation, one whose aim was to unite the Wizarding World with their ideals, not to destroy it. It seemed as if all was going well.

Until it all started back up again...


Rejuvenated RPG takes place in the year 2007. The war against Voldemort has long been over. The Death Eaters were the enemies of yesterday. Who will be the enemies of today?

there are just too many hp games out there that die because of inactivity. why do they go inactive? maybe because they lack freedom, plotting, or the boy who lived. in short, [info]strings is a different kind of hp game. we are epilogue, but we don't have a strict policy as to following canon. talk to us! we're very reasonable people.

over the years, most of us have grown to love our characters, no matter who you play. [info]strings has a variety of characters, all of whom are the babies of our babies. if you loved playing pansy parkinson, how about giving amelia flint, her daughter a chance? michael corner? mike's got three boys, for you! so many characters have been pigeon-holded (good guy, bad guy) in the hp rp world and [info]strings wants to break free from this. do what you want with your own character.

the game is called [info]strings because somehow or another, everyone is connected in the world. it might take 26 different degrees of connections, but a always goes to z. the game is relationship centered. there are no dark plot lines that cause every other person to die or anything like that. we're here for development and there is no better way to get into your character's head than to play them!

various elements have been changed. if you are a die-hard canon fan, this game might not be for you. we didn't like rowling's epilogue. sorry, loves!

PLOT RULES CHARACTERS PBs APPLICATION

The students who attended Hogwarts throughout the 1970s faced numerous challenges. They found themselves in a world on the brink of war. Upon entering the school, some were taking their first steps into a magical world that was completely foreign to them. Others had lived in it all their lives and were about to leave the safety of Hogwarts to see what the world had in store for them. How will these students react to the world that is constantly changing around them? Who will they become and what roles will they take up as the times shift? It is in their power to answer these questions. We know a little of what they will do outside of Hogwarts. Let's see how they got there.

This is a canon school-oriented Marauders-Era RPG that does recognize Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It's March of 1972 and the Marauders are in their first year!

Peace? In our labyrinthine wizarding world? Well, honestly, I didn't think it was possible. It seemed rather preposterous, even after his sensational defeat. Oh, I can barely remember what it felt like when we received the news. We heard it on our wireless right before we sat down for supper. He was gone, his enthusiasts were gone, but tragically: so were a lot of the people we knew. ( ... )

It is the year 2022. Another generation is at Hogwarts, and their time there has been considerably less dramatic than Harry's. However, things aren't as perfect as they first appear.

The Premise
Voldemort is dead – has been for almost seven years now – the war should have been over that night long ago when Harry Potter did what no one dared believe he would do. The war, however, didn't end, but went on. Regrouping under Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange, the Death Eaters kept fighting and with the Ministry gone and the Minister for Magic killed, the wizarding world was thrown into chaos.

From this chaos, two new factions were born. One group (under the leadership of Minerva McGonagall) wanted to open wizarding society to a decidedly suspicious Muggle world, whilst the others wanted to close off the wizarding world completely from Muggle influence and seek strength in isolation. With a brutal attack destroying Diagon Alley that left a part of London burning, the two factions of light realised that they must start working together to defeat the Death Eaters.

The game began at this turning point of the war - the point where the side of light finally has a chance to win. But there is still a long way to go. Can these two factions put aside their differences to finally win this war, or will they dissolve into their own fighting, giving the Death Eaters a chance to overcome?

The Game
Beyond the Darkness RPG is a role-playing game based on the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The setting takes place seven years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ends but is canon compliant only to Half Blood Prince (as the game began before the release of book seven).

If you're looking for a game where player influence on the main plot is high and the moderators are willing to listen to your suggestions, then this is the game for you. One year running and still going strong, we see a bright future for the game. With plot-lines running far beyond the end of the war, we're not going anywhere for a long while.

We are looking for creative and active players who want to build a story for their characters in this far from perfect world. All levels of experience are welcome, from the players who have never played an RPG before, to those who have played for several years.

You must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Game officially started on February 2nd 2007.
The Characters
At the moment we're actively looking to recast several important characters, as well as seeking those we feel could develop the over all game. The list of available characters is still large and varied however, so don't hesitate to take a look.

Among those we're seeking to recast are: Rodolphus Lestrange, Draco Malfoy, Bill, Charlie and Arthur Weasley...as well as several others.

Examples of other needed characters would be Lee Jordan, Rita Skeeter or another canon character who is involved with the media in some way as this world is in great need of some way to spread news.

We're also looking for a Death Eater who could function as a spy within Upper Slaughter. This needs to be someone who could be recruited by Severus (so someone who trusts him), and also someone clever enough to manoeuvre around Rodolphus and Bellatrix - which is not an easy task.

When the Dark Lord Voldemort died, he released a wave of magic. A sort of magic no one had record of, intensely powerful and with incredible ability and desire to correct the mistakes of the past and to punish those that had made them. He hoped to send himself into his body from twenty years earlier - which he did successfully. The brain of the Dark Lord in December, 1976 was suddenly filled with knowledge from the following twenty years. Sufficient knowledge, in fact, to attempt to kill Harry Potter and his friends one last time. Knowledge that put him at a great advantage over all the others in the time period.

Or so he thought.

Though intelligent and meticulous, the magic pouring forth from Lord Voldemort at the time of his death was uncontrolled and went in all directions. Adults were hit, including the recently deceased and nearly dead, sending their souls spiraling back in time. Even this would have been below Voldemort's radar, he would have found the knowledge of others unimportant compared to his own, and thus having his followers by his side would help him little. What he didn't expect was an added blessing - young people of Harry's generation were pulled back in time right along with him. Unlike the adults, however, who had an existing body to land in, the children of his time appeared seemingly from nowhere. There was no explanation for the students to appear in this way - sprawled across the grounds outside of Hogwarts Castle, in varying states of injury and disarray.

Dumbledore took them in and immediately their tale was told. It was winter holidays, so many of the students from Hogwarts had already gone home, leaving the castle largely empty. The few stragglers witnessed the arrival of these new students, but they were quickly silenced while Dumbledore helped Harry and his friends come up with a cover story. They would claim to be homeschooled students, and would be given pseudonyms. The story would be that Hogwarts was opening its doors for the first time ever to late admittances, on account of the increasing danger that witches and wizards were facing in the world. They were, under no circumstances, to tell anyone what their true story was. Secrecy was key. They didn't know how or why they'd been sent back in time, but it was obvious the level of danger they faced if they weren't careful.

Of course, Voldemort would not be fooled for long... and he had a whole new agenda this time around, with Harry Potter at the center of it.

A DH-Compatible 7th Year Game

With Severus Snape as the new Headmaster, most students knew right away that Hogwarts had changed for the worse, but few were able to imagine the horrors that awaited them during that long and torturous year. The changes began with merely a shift in atmosphere, a cold graveness that pervaded the castle and a new, mandatory class in Muggle Studies. As the sixth and seventh years began a new year, they must prepare not only to pass their NEWTs, but to curse disobedient first years in Defense Against the Dark Arts, glorify the superiority of wizardkind in Muggle Studies, be punished for dissent written in their private letters, and, most importantly, to stand up and fight against a new, Death Eater-controlled administration.

Now returning from their winter holidays, the atmosphere of the school has grown even more grim. Luna Lovegood disappered when the train landed in London several weeks ago. The meals at Hogwarts will now be segregated according to blood purity (and obedience to the Carrows, in the case of mudblood-lovers). The practical work in the Dark Arts classes will grow even more evil, with the students order to practice hexes and curses against fellow students. Dumbledore's Army will begin to recruit, and the lines of loyalties will be drawn darker as push comes to shove, and everyone must take a side.

This is a seventh year trio era Deathly Hallows-compliant game that has just entered JANUARY 1998.

THIS IS A GAME THAT WILL BE PLAYED TO THE LAST BATTLE.

Please be advised that the cast list is complete. Disenchantment focuses on the students who were left behind at Hogwarts during the end of the war.

The game began play on November 1st.

Asphodel: Powdered root of asphodel is used in the Draught of Living Death. This plant is traditionally associated with the afterlife and the underworld.

We are living in a world of uncertainty now. Before, the only worries we truly had were whether or not we would pass our examinations or if the marauders were the ones responsible for turning everyone's hair a nice shade of lilac. But times are changing and things are getting darker out in the real world. A growing army is fast approaching; friends and family members are disappearing more often and there are a growing number of events happening that can no longer be explained easily. All done by he who dare calls himself Lord.

Asphodel is a game focused almost entirely on the war of the late 1970s that threw the entire wizarding world into chaos. With darkening themes and realistic events, it won't be for those who are faint at heart and can't bear to sit back and watch our most beloved characters thrown into the lion's den.
