I just want everyone to know that we are going to be closing out the remaining support requests in the coming few days. I know this sounds like a broken record, but we closed about 50 last night and will continue until we are done.

Also, we understand this is not going to be a popular move, but all new requests submitted after this post are no longer going to be eligible for compensation for lost accounts due to the accidental purge in January. We have no way to verify these requests and have been going on the word of our users for every single case.

We feel that we have given a significant amount of time for users who have lost accounts to discover this fact and let us know. As this is a business that needs to continue to cover it's own costs, it cannot do that if we continue to give away free items.

Please bear with us if you have an open request, these are handled on a case by case basis and will be done as quickly as possible.

Due to popular demand we have decided to implement a sale for the next week. This is a perfect opportunity to use any of those outstanding coupons that you have laying around. We are including Permanently Insane accounts and Self-Committed accounts in this sale.

The new ads have been discontinued. This is due to overwhelming user feedback and a general distaste for the misleading and deceptive ads being delivered.

In an ongoing effort to help may InsaneJournal more financially stable, we are testing some new ads. Please immediately report any issues you have with them so we can resolve them asap. We understand they are undesirable, but we are still struggling with advertising revenue and are trying to see what we can do to improve it.

Account codes are now required on InsaneJournal. They can be given as gifts from existing accounts (http://www.insanejournal.com/invite/) or you can purchase one by buying a paid account for an email address (which will allow you to create an account AND become a paid member).

Last night our primary database ran out of space. We had to use this time to perform a very long and intense maintenance on our database that took over 12 hours to complete. We are very sorry for being online, but this was a necessary outage that we had been putting off for quite some time.

So, its as good of an excuse as any to lower prices, so to celebrate the end of the world (and the winter solstice) I am putting Permanently Insane accounts deeper on sale at $30 for just this weekend. If you were looking for a Yule or Christmas present, this will do.

Also as soon as I get the account codes issue worked out, I will be implementing them which should help with the high loads we have been experiencing in the evenings.

I apologize for the downtime last night. I couldn't get to Facebook or Twitter to update. It appears that the spammers hit us hard last night. I took some measures that will (hopefully) mitigate this in the future. I am very very sorry for being unable to communicate this.

We have a serious backlog of notifications due to a number of recent issues. This is being dealt with an extra processes have been fired off to help out with the backlog. We will look into optimizing this process once we have cleared out the current queue.
