An Update on the State of the Site

We are working on resolving some of our site issues. We've identified the core of the notifications issue and are working to resolve it ASAP. This will take some time as we need to migrate everyone to new DBs.

This may also solve some other issues. We are continuing to investigate.

  Would the DB migration be responsible for occasional slow page loads and some icons not loading? (Not complaining at all, just asking so I know whether my new internet is being obnoxious or it's just normal migration pains for IJ.)

  The site's been loading icons extremely slowly, or as broken images, a lot of the time. There's also been "bad gateway" errors, as well as the "internal error..." ones (i got one of each simply clicking through pages to get to this entry).

    there's a THIRD type of error as well - just happened too: [Error: Database handle unavailable (user: whenitfades; cluster: 1) at /home/lj/cgi-bin/LJ/Subscription.pm line 76 @ ip-10-0-6-113.us-east-2.compute.internal]

  Does this include this error message we're getting on some journals? "This journal is in read-only mode right now while database maintenance is performed on the server where the journal is located. Try again in several minutes."

    If you are continuing to get those errors after a couple hours please open a support request so we can resolve.
