Goal Update

We're still looking into what happened, but we missed our goal despite increasing our number of Patrons. I'm guessing someone cancelled at the last minute. Which is fine.



Since we're doing so well, we decided to move forward with phase 1 of our goal.

As long as we can maintain our current membership level on our Patreon we will leave ads in their current state which is that if you are logged in, you wont see ads.

Also if we can get to $1000/mo we are going to finish removing ads from the site.

Thank you everyone who continues to support us. Now we are onto the next task which is finally getting an answer on what is happening with comments.

If you can provide us a good description of the issues you are seeing and how you can trigger them, it will be greatly appreciated. We've been having some issues duplicating the issue which is making it very hard to troubleshoot.

  Below is what I'm personally running into, hope it helps?
  
  When I use IJ at work: I use a PC, and I don't have Tess' sanity extension on. I usually don't have problems with comments but it happens occasionally. I will have problems posting journal entries sometimes as it defaults into a preview page, while the actual preview page isn't working if I try to preview something before posting.
  
  When I use IJ at home: I have a Macbook, and use Tess' sanity extension, and have TONS of problems posting comments. It will take seven or so tries. I will also have the above issues when it comes to posting entries/the preview page,

  At work I use a PC with Windows 13 and chrome, and occasionally have the screen freeze when I hit submit on a comment. I can usually copy my text box and refresh and it will then go through.
  
  At home, I'm on a Chromebook with chrome, and the same as above happens a lot more often.

  The comment issue I run into is that I hit post comment and it just doesn't do anything. I often have to c&p and close the tab completely and pull the page up in a new one before it posts. I've tried refreshing the page but that doesn't usually help. I find this happens a lot after I've taken a while to write something out or have had the icon selector open. This has been on both my laptop and my phone. I use Chrome on both.

  I find a lot of the time I can't comment after I switch icons. I have to refresh a few times and use my default icon before it allows the comment to go through.

  would you guys consider selling paid accounts indefinitely? it could help in the short term

  Somehow I managed to miss this so please disregard my comment on the most recent post.
  
  I'm running the most up to date Windows on a PC and using chrome with no extensions and I'm having the comment issue about 80% of the time. It doesn't matter if I change my icon or not, how long the comment is, etc. I type it, I hit 'post comment' and that button greys out, the page won't move. At that point if I click on anything that would direct me to a different page it works fine, it's just the comment posting that doesn't work properly. I then have to copy my comment, refresh the page, and try to 'post comment' again. 95% of the time it works, but if I stay on the same page after posting the comment and try to post another? I have the same issue.

  i only use ij on my mac or iphone (both running chrome), no extensions on either, and my comments will work and then suddenly stop? when they stop i do CMD SHIFT R to try again and sometimes have to redo that up to 5 times before it posts. i haven't noticed any patterns with comment lengths or recently changing my default like some of the other commenters mentioned, it almost seems like a caching issue maybe but i could be totally off. my experience sounds pretty similar to ~meringues's overall.
