Who: Rogue and Cameron
What: Rogue meets another person immune to her touch
When: Today
Where: Near the Main Gate
Warnings: None that I can think of, will update if it changes.
Rogue may not have had the best aim with a gun but she'd found that her mutation worked better than a bullet and she never had to worry about running out of ammunition. She took to working her sentry shift with the gloves that had metal clasps on the back of her hands and around the palms for easy access to her fingers, and a tank top with a long sleeved sweater tied around her waist. With the Leviathan threat, she thought it best to have plenty of her skin already bared and ready to use at a moment's notice. Of course, she took care not to touch anyone that she came across on her shift. She wanted to protect these people, not hurt them.
So far, aside from a zombie or two that were picked off by one of the other people on sentry duty, things were fairly quiet. It was actually a little boring but that was good, boredom usually meant safety and from all the posts she'd seen on the network since coming to the prison, everyone inside could use a healthy dose of boredom. There was a large sense of helplessness and dread that could hardly be avoided in any part of the prison and Rogue didn't blame them. She'd read a few of the older posts on the network and had been horrified to find out what Dick Roman had done since showing up in Everett. She'd had some insight thanks to Molly and a sense of understanding she didn't want to have due to touching one of those things, but it was still disgusting to have read some of the specifics.
Rogue wondered if this was the end of the line for her and for everyone else. It certainly felt that way at times but she tried not to let that feeling suffocate her. They were still alive and as long as the prison didn't fall, they had a chance of coming out on top. She refused to believe otherwise. Shaking her head, she put those thoughts aside and walked along her section. There was a woman there that had been present when Rogue had shown up for her shift. She'd left her alone since the girl seemed intent on watching the gate but after passing her for about the twelfth time, she broke the silence.
"Hi, there," she greeted with a small smile. "I don't mean to disturb you but your face seems familiar to me but I can't quite place you. Have you ever been to New York before?"
