"Oh, that's OK then," Cameron replied. "I'm not really alive."
She switched from passive to active scan in, no longer concerned around these humans that they would notice how her eyes glowed blue. "It won't hurt at all. As part of my original mission prep I had a complete biomedical suite installed." She brought her complete combat scanners on line as well, her vision switching from full color to black and red with data readouts at either side. She knew that in that mode the red light would back feed from her eyes.
Lastly, she took a step closer and put the palm on her hand on Rogue's bare shoulder. She could feel the beginning of an energy draw, so she simply shut that part of herself off. She could dump enough energy from her reactor into her hands to incinerate a Buick, let alone a small woman, but that would hardly meet the definition of not hurting.
She lifted her hand and smiled. "Well, you seem healthy enough, although a little low on selenium. You might check with the infirmary for a multivitamin. I had hoped to reprogram myself to emulate your effect, but initial analysis suggests I'll need a rewiring. I'm set up to dump energy for combat purposes, not absorb it. But thank you anyway. I have about 8 terrabites to look at. That will give me something to do for a few hours."
