After Destiny had made her announcement on the network, she was surprised to find that Everett was in dire straits. The people here were even more desperate than the ones she had come across in Hemlock Grove. Like any good gypsy, Destiny never stayed very long in one place. It was odd for the Rumanceks to stay in any one place for more than a year or two. That was an extended stay. For as much as Destiny could read the futures of others, her own future was always a great mystery to her. That was one of the blessings of her calling. Her own destiny was a giant black hole to be filled with however she lived her life.
Castiel had come to her for assistance, which was the only reason Destiny had even made a stop in Everett. She wasn't planning to stay for long until she had discovered Katherine's place. It was the perfect place for Destiny to set up shop. Destiny didn't trust vampires but this one would provide her with protection and Destiny would draw clients in. It was a symbiotic relationship. It was just good juju that she happened to find a heaping pile of those she had met along the way in her travels over the past twenty three years. She was troubled by those missing especially when she found out that one of them was Klaus Mikaelson. He was extremely powerful and would be a very difficult foe for anyone foolhardy enough to take him on. She remembered him from when she was a child, his secret meetings with Nicolae. The smell of pipe smoke heavy in the air, hushed tones in Romanian. Klaus had even stopped by to pay his respects at Nicolae's funeral. Most people were disturbed the funeral rites of the Rumancek gypsies but Klaus didn't seem bothered by them. She would do whatever she could do to return him and restore the natural order in Everett.
But nothing was for free. There would always be a sacrifice. There had already been one, a little girl. Destiny would have better luck if the blood was fresher but there was no helping that now. She would do what she could with what Castiel would bring her. There would have to be another sacrifice though. Everything demanded payment in the supernatural world and in Destiny's world sacrifices were the natural order.
The little cottage on Katherine's estate had served Destiny fine and it had come with a fully equipped and stocked kitchen. Like the other buildings on Katherine's estate, Destiny's was hooked up to the generator and had full power. The stove was electric which worked out well in her favor. She pulled out a pie tin and began making a crust. She wasn't a pastry chef and it probably wouldn't be the best tasting crust but considering what she planned to fill it with it hardly seemed to matter. She also drank straight from a bottle of cheap red wine while she worked.
Castiel was approaching. She could feel his angelic presence nearby. It was hard to mistake him for anyone else. The first time he had approached her, she had been cautious but unafraid even though she understood the damage he could do to her. Not everyone approved of Destiny's gifts or the kinds of magic she so easily accessed.
She opened a can of tuna and drained the water before dumping it on a plate and visiting the back sliding glass door of her little. "Here, kitty," she called. Making little noises with her mouth until the neighborhood cat, a cranky Tabby she had affectionately named Tigger even though she knew that Tigger wouldn't be long for this world. She patted his head and put the tuna on the ground so that Tigger could have one last meal.
When she stood back up and turned around, she was unsurprised to see Castiel standing there. "Did you bring it?" she asked.
