"Yeah, of course," Alcide responded without hesitation. He and Faith had been working hard to keep up security lately, even if in Alcide's darkest moments he could feel the sense of self doubt creeping in. It was what happened when you kept hitting the same damn wall, not getting any results no matter what they did or how they tried. It was damn annoying that him, as a goddamn werewolf, couldn't find traces of scents that would leave them anywhere. He couldn't track anyone. The past few days, there had been nothing they could do to change anything.
This was something. Them going out on Saturday would be something, and they would make it work. They would find an answer, and they would use it for their advantage. He had to believe that. He had to believe that, because otherwise the helplessness would drive him crazy otherwise.
With a small nod of reassurance, as if telling her that things would be fine if she took a break, he turned to the screens and sat at the desk. His eyes were focused on the cameras, looking for something, anything that was out of the ordinary, but his mind was already trailing off to the weekend.
