Two unrelated items of note:

  • While previously I possessed a dim view of coffee, I decided to give one of your seasonal offerings a try, and I can now apologize profusely for my dismissal of all such beverages: pumpkin spice lattes are perfect. Simply perfect. We've nothing truly like it in Quur, save a cinnamon tea that's not nearly so comforting or sweet. If one of you entrepreneurial sorts wants to offer it up year round, I will consistently skulk within your shop.

  • Secondly, I awoke this morning very literally covered in books. It appears that a portion of my library from back home has found its way to me here in Vallo. I recently acquired even more tomes due to the untimely death of an ally/friend/mentor/traitor/wizard/drunk, but I had not had a chance back home to go through the sheer volume of texts. Should anyone wish to make me their personal lending library, the books are wide in subject and varied, including:
    • Fictional tales of the God Kings: Their Lives and Extremely Messy Deaths
    • A History of Notable Witches (this one was banned, and if you damage it, I will destroy you)
    • A discussion of hand-to-hand fighting techniques (common in the Blight)
    • a Vane epic tale that seems to be less about immortal heroes and their adventures and more of a who-slept-with-who-and-details-on-the-how (not mine, don't know where it came from),
    • my tenth year report on the Royal Houses of Quur that very nearly got me expelled (I stand by every word),
    • Poison Plants of the Southern Empire,
    • Gender Politics and the Horsemen of Jorat (for those of you interested in what it means to 'run with the herd', sexually) and
    • my father's book on soul magic, which I will only lend once I am convinced that you're of a sufficient moral character to be trusted with its contents.
Should anyone be interested. And/or kind enough to dig me out of this mess. Literally. I am still buried in books. They're... everywhere.

Oh, well! I try, thank you. I've never experienced anything where good manners didn't aggravate the situation, if not always improve it.

The continent is known as Prythian, and then the Mortal Lands are separated from the Fae, of which there are seven Courts. Our brother-in-law and sister run the Night Court. It's lovely there if not. You're royal, then?

There's very little point in being rude. Save the times when it's gratifying, but those are few and far between.

Am I reading correctly in that your sister married into the Fae? And yes, for all purposes, I'm Lord D'Lorus. Very recently, so the title is still strange.

Even when it feels gratifying in the moment, I feel too guilty after the fact!

She was Made High Fae and then married Rhysand. All three of us were--Made, not married to Rhysand, I mean. I can imagine that's a very large change! What was going to be your first act as royalty?
